IF THE WASHER TAB IS SHEARED, TIGHTENING OF THE OUTER SPINDLE NUT MAY CAUSE THE BEARINGS TO BE EXCESSIVELY PRELOADED RATHER THAN THE INTENDED .001" - .005" END PLAY. EITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS MAY CAUSE PREMATURE WHEEL BEARING FAILURE.
