The announcement from October 6, 2021 has been updated to highlight the following important information: Retailers should ensure they are using the most recent version of the CONSULT III operating system. Ensure that the technician has configured the audio/IT unit as instructed beginning with step 27 of the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). Retailers should assist every customer with (1) removing ALL paired phones,(2) pairing their phone with the vehicle again before they leave the dealership, and (3) verifying Wireless CarPlay is working for iPhone users (See page 2 of this announcement) Ensure that YES is selected on the vehicle when prompted to deactivate Wi-Fi to use Wireless CarPlay (provide owners a copy of the instructions on page 6 of this announcement) Notify owners that some vehicles may have initial location accuracy concerns after the software update. This is not a unique issue for INFINITI and will self-correct within a few days.(see page 7) Please print a copy of the phone pairing instructions (page 6) for the owner to use with pairing other phones back to their vehicle.

Your vehicle is already equipped with Apple CarPlay to enhance your iPhone user experience with iOS13 and later, but it currently requires a USB cord connection to your phone to use. The CarPlay dashboard takes things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on the vehicles built-in display, eliminating the need to remove the iPhone from your pocket or bag. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaign I.D. PC839 New vehicles in retailer inventory can also be identified by using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). Refer to IPSB 15-286 for additional information 2. This upgrade will bring the vehicles infotainment software up to current production level, improve system overall performance, and enable wireless use of current Apple CarPlay features. RETAILER RESPONSIBILITY It is the retailers responsibility to check SERVICE COMM using Service Comm I.D. PC839 for the status on each vehicle falling within the range of this client satisfaction initiative which for any reason enters the service department. If a vehicle subject to this client satisfaction activity was part of a retailer trade, the letter associated with that vehicle should be forwarded to the appropriate retailer for upgrade completion.

front axle nut removed, for any reason, the staking of the nut into the axle keyway must first be removed. The essential tool (part number # J-52982, Figure 1) required to remove the nut staking, is called out as a Cape Chisel in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), and must be used to prevent thread damage to the axle (see Figure 2 on page 2). The Cape Chisel arrived at dealers in December of 2020. Damaged threads, due to improper removal of the stake placed in the nut, will not be covered by warranty. The AALA label on affected vehicles was inadvertently printed with incorrect transmission manufacturing location and percentage breakdown of parts content by country. Affected vehicles are not subject to stop sale and are either currently in retailer inventory or assigned and in transit to the retailer. In the interest of client satisfaction, INFINITI requests retailers to apply the replacement label on the affected vehicles prior to retail sale. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles currently in new retailers inventory are affected by this quality action using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaign I.D. PC714. - New vehicles in retailer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to IPSB 15-286 for additional information - Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2. Use the attached procedure to remedy vehicles affected by this quality action. 3. The service department should submit the applicable warranty claim for the action(s) performed so it can be closed on Service Comm and release the vehicle. 4. Retailers will receive one (1) label for every affected vehicle in retailer inventory via USPS. Labels will be sent to the Service Managers attention.
