Acid rain results from rainwater or other airborne moisture that become acidic due to industrial chemical impurities in the atmosphere.

If these acidic compounds settle on an exposed vehicle, especially the horizontal areas such as the hood, roof, and decklid, significant damage to the painted surfaces can occur. Acid rain damage can typically be identified on vehicles by the presence of stains on the paint surface that resemble hard water spots. Unlike water spots however, acid rain damage cannot be removed by regular washing procedures. Also, because acid rain can etch and soften the paint, normal buffing or polishing repair procedures should not be attempted. This can cause further damage and result in visible depressions in the paint surface. The following are the three major categories of acid rain damage: Minor damage: requires only buffing to repair. Moderate damage: usually requires neutralizing, color sanding, and buffing. On some vehicles, when Rapgard? is removed the paint may have a stained appearance. These stains appear to be under the clear coat (repainting this area is NOT necessary). The stain patterns are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard?. These wrinkles sometimes trap water and cause the paint to stain from the trapped moisture, especially on horizontal surfaces, such as the hood, roof, and trunk. Stains can be removed by heating the stained surface to remove the trapped moisture.

However, the proposed settlement allows Toyota to implement the Customer Confidence Program (as outlined in the settlement agreement) in advance of the proposed settlement becoming final. Accordingly, Toyota has decided to implement certain components of the Customer Confidence Program in advance of final approval. These components are listed below and Toyota estimates that they will be available starting in April 2019.1 At that time, Toyota will issue a notice to all dealers advising them that these components have become available. Pursuant to the proposed settlement?s Customer Confidence Program: o Coverage for repairs to the power sliding door cable sub-assembly, sliding door center hinge assembly, and fuel door will be available for 10 years from the subject vehicles date of first use, regardless of mileage. o Warranty Enhancement Program ZH4 will be expanded to include certain 2016 ? 2018 model year Sienna vehicles. o Warranty Enhancement Program ZH5 will be expanded to include certain 2015 ? 2018 model year Sienna vehicles. o Warranty Enhancement Programs ZH4 and ZH5, which are applicable for nine years from the subject vehicles date of first use regardless of mileage, will be extended by one additional year regardless of mileage. ? Service Tool Set is required to properly install the seal onto the injector. As new vehicle configurations have been released, several injector seal tool sets have been distributed to accommodate these new vehicles. There are a total of three injector seal tool sets for Toyota models, located in the appropriate SST cabinets. Each kit contains multiple pieces as shown in the diagram below. The individual pieces must remain together to ensure these tools are used correctly. The Immobilizer and Smart Key Reset is a feature that allows the registration of new keys when all master keys are lost. Once the system is reset, all previously registered keys will be erased. It is critical to review the instructions for this new process BEFORE attempting to get a passcode in the new system.

As a matter of policy, Toyota does not provide battery warranty coverage for discharged and/or failed batteries due to lack of maintenance. It is the dealer?s responsibility to maintain the specified State of Charge (SOC) of the vehicle?s battery while in stock and assure proper State of Charge (SOC) at delivery. To eliminate customer service concerns due to an undercharged battery during the first few weeks of ownership, ALL dealers should check battery State of Charge (SOC) and recharge, if necessary, within 48 hours of delivery to customers.

Adding stop leak products to the A/C system is not a recommended or approved Toyota repair process. During A/C service, moisture enters the A/C system, and can react with the previously added A/C stop leak, forming a gelatinous substance.
