If these acidic compounds settle on an exposed vehicle, especially the horizontal areas such as the hood, roof, and decklid, significant damage to the painted surfaces can occur. Acid rain damage can typically be identified on vehicles by the presence of stains on the paint surface that resemble hard water spots. Unlike water spots however, acid rain damage cannot be removed by regular washing procedures. Also, because acid rain can etch and soften the paint, normal buffing or polishing repair procedures should not be attempted. 2008 Model Year Tundra Certain 2005 ? 2008 Model Year Sequoia Frame Corrosion Resistant Compound (CRC) Application ? LSC H0F will expire May 21, 2019. ? No vehicles can be sprayed after this date. It?s important to have all vehicles remaining to be sprayed completed on or before this date. o If your dealership is not able to spray the remaining vehicles before this expiration, consideration can be given into whether a customer should be referred to another, local Toyota dealership that can complete the CRC application on or before May 21, 2019. ? Ensure your dealership only orders CRC spray for vehicles that are scheduled to be sprayed. Any additional CRC spray kits cannot be returned after campaign expiration.

In our continuing efforts to ensure the best in customer satisfaction, Toyota is announcing a Warranty Enhancement Program to extend the warranty coverage for Frame Corrosion on certain 2008 model year Sequoia vehicles. On May 21, 2017, a settlement of claims in a class action lawsuit involving 2008 Toyota Sequoia vehicles regarding frame corrosion was approved. This finally approved class action settlement includes inspection of the customer?s frame, and if the frames meet or exceed the Rust Perforation Standard based on the Court-ordered inspection criteria, the frame will be replaced at no cost to the customer.

Extension of Warranty Coverage for Frame Corrosion/Frame Replacement. Frame Ordering/Repair/Administration Updates Mis-Built. For frames that are suspected to have been mis-built, dealers should: 1. Contact the Parts Technical Support Group (PTSG) at prasupport@toyota.com with information on the condition and status of repair. Also include the original part order reference number. a. A Field Product Quality Report (FPQR) should also be generated and attached to the communication. i. The report should include photos of the condition, and photos of all labels and stampings on the frame. ii. This report can be submitted by region staff (FTS) or dealership personnel. 2. Dealership will receive communication back with next direction(s) from PTSG. a. Response will include confirmation of mis-built condition, if applicable, and instructions on mis-built frame disposition.

These stains appear to be under the clear coat (repainting this area is not necessary). The stain patterns are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard. These wrinkles sometimes trap water and cause the paint to stain from the trapped moisture, especially on horizontal surfaces, such as the hood, roof, and trunk. Stains can be removed by heating the stained surface to remove the trapped moisture.

This finally approved class action settlement includes inspection of the customer?s frame, and if the frame meets or exceeds the Rust Perforation Standard based on the Court-ordered inspection criteria, the frame will be replaced at no cost to the customer.

This Service Bulletin provides best practice procedures for vehicle pulling complaint, diagnosis, and repair for 2002 ? 2021 model year Toyota vehicles. This information supplements Repair Manual procedures when the symptoms are: ?Vehicle Pulling: The vehicle moves to the right or left when the driver holds the steering wheel while driving straight ahead without exerting steering effort. ?Steering Wheel Off Center: The vehicle travels straight, but the steering wheel is not pointed straight ahead. The vehicle is not pulling. Before repairing a vehicle pulling to one side, it is necessary to clearly identify the cause of the pulling condition. Frequently, pulling to one side is diagnosed as a wheel alignment concern. However, the actual cause may be related to the lateral force generated by the tires, vehicle damage, road crown or worn components. Performing a wheel alignment when tire force is the cause could result in the wheel alignment being set at a value outside of specifications. This could then cause other problems such as uneven tire wear, etc. A customer may notice a pull to the left when in the left lanes of travel and notice a pull to the right or no pull when traveling in the right lanes of travel on the very same section of roadway. This road crown effect is environmental and cannot be corrected with suspension adjustments or any other wheel or tire modification discussed in this bulletin.

Some hazardous material treatment and handling regulations at the state and local level define the pre-disposal deployment of airbag and pre-tensioner assemblies as hazardous material treatment. Hazardous material treatment may require special training, certification or licensing in certain areas. TMS recommends that dealership personnel carefully review and follow ALL local and state regulations, and where necessary, contract with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Licensed Hazardous Waste Transportation and Disposal facilities.

Toyota does NOT recommend replacement of original seat covers with non-Toyota leather or other seat cover materials on vehicles due to the following: Seat covers NOT recommended by Toyota may affect side airbag performance, in general or in part, during an accident. Modifications that negatively affect side airbag performance can result in severe occupant injuries. Seat covers are an integral part of this safety system. Replacing fabric seat covers with non-Toyota leather or other seat cover materials may compromise the effectiveness of this safety system. The design of the seat is complex, integrating safety and strength with comfort and luxury. Toyota strongly discourages modifying original equipment seats that have optional side airbags. Additionally, Toyota strongly advises against the installation or use of aftermarket seat covers, which could impair the performance of the side airbags in the event of an accident.

DO NOT perform Campaign H0F without first performing and filing a claim for the WEP (Warranty Enhancement Programs ZH6-9) inspection. ? H0F Op Codes GGG44C, GGG45C, GGG46C, GGG47C, and GGG48C are for vehicles that had initially passed the WEP inspection, but had perforation found when descaling the vehicle in preparation for the CRC spray. These H0F Op codes are not to be used as a preliminary failed inspection. ? If you see in TIS that campaign H0F is applicable and the status shows Not Completed, check to see the status of WEP ZH6-9. Please follow the flowchart below for the correct frame inspection, replacement, and CRC spray process.
