Provisioning is the process by which the DCM receives the subscription request and activates the related DCM features requested as outlined in the specific subscription contract. If provisioning is not successful then the DCM may remain in an inactive state and the requested services may not be activated for the customer. Field investigation has found that this may be a result of three possible conditions. * The DCM may be off the network due to vehicle storage or other network factors. * The DCM may be lacking power or ground due to some body side electrical concern. * The DCM may have an internal failure.

1. We are pleased to announce that based upon retailer input and comments, along with further study and analysis by FHI and SOA, we are increasing the labor time for repairs under this recall by 0.5 hour per vehicle. This is for both 2.5 and 3.6 liter vehicles and will be retroactive to the first repair claims processed. 2. An updated repair procedure document is attached (click here) and will be posted today to STIS. This includes these increased labor times and also provides updated repair procedures including a clarification on the possible need for toe adjustments. We have also reduced the parts retention period for this recall only. Once a claim has been submitted and APPROVED, the parts replaced to complete the repair may be scrapped. 3. We are also sharing that we are enhancing the SSLP daily reimbursement rate. The new reimbursement rate will be $40/day and takes effect retroactively back to May 9, 2016 to align with the announcement of the WTD65 campaign. Please note, although this enhancement is being made retroactively to support our retailer partners during the campaign, this new reimbursement rate will continue once the campaign is completed. 4. Parts Supply ? based upon the latest available supplier production and shipping schedules, we will have delivered at least 26,000 steering columns to retailers by Friday May 27. This will cover more than 100% of sold vehicles plus approximately 80% of the estimated total vehicles needing repair parts.

Through the weekend we have shipped 17,346 steering columns, which represents 67% of the total sold vehicles.

In fact, 1,355 steering columns were delivered to retailers this Saturday, another 1,712 will be delivered today, and another 3,000 will be delivered tomorrow. Given projected failure rate of 66%, this means we should now be starting to repair units in retailer inventory. However, we realize that this may not be the case for every retailer. We will continue to ship parts at an average of 1,500 per day this week, and we will utilize VIN counts collected over the weekend to prioritize and allocate parts going forward. It is very important that each retailer continue to follow up with customers that have not arranged for inspection or to have their vehicles towed to the retailer. We need every vehicle inspected or repaired, and we need this done as soon as it is practical. It is also important that claims are entered on a timely basis, every day, so we can keep a good accounting of the completed cars.

identified with a sticking secondary hood latch mechanism. The hood latch mechanism is exposed to foreign materials during normal use which can accumulate and cause the secondary portion to not operate properly. The spring-loaded secondary latch is manually released (after pulling the inside hood release lever to operate the primary latch mechanism) by the operator to open the hood. If faulty, the spring may not have enough force to return the lever back to its original position while the hood is open. Once the hood is closed, the secondary latch is forced into the closed position by design.

In some cases, the retaining tab of the connector may become damaged as a result of removal or installation for diagnosis and later and cause DTC C1956 or C1957 to set and the brake warning lamp to illuminate. The retaining tab portion of the connector has been changed to improve its durability and prevent recurrence of the DTC. If there is no prior history of disconnection and the connector lock tab is not damaged, check for another possible cause for these DTCs.

This Bulletin provides information regarding Event Data Recorder (EDR) functionality which has been incorporated into the airbag system. The function of the EDR is best explained using the following statements found in the vehicle Owner?s Manual: ?This vehicle is equipped with an event data recorder (EDR). The main purpose of an EDR is to record, in certain crash or near crash-like situations such as an airbag deployment or hitting a road obstacle, data that will assist in the understanding how a vehicle?s systems performed. The EDR is designed to record data related to vehicle dynamics and safety systems for a short period of time, typically 30 seconds or less. The EDR in this vehicle is designed to record such data as: ? How various systems in your vehicle were operating; ? Whether or not the driver and passenger safety belts were buckled/fastened; ? How far (if at all) the driver was depressing the accelerator and/or brake pedal; ? How fast the vehicle was traveling. This data can help provide a better understanding of the circumstances in which crashes and injuries occur.

(Subaru) is initiating a service campaign for certain 2015-2018 Legacy and Outback 2.5L SULEV vehicles. This campaign involves replacement of the front exhaust pipe assembly, which includes the catalytic converter. Due to an improper part number supersession for the EPF assembly, certain SULEV vehicles which had the EPF replaced by an authorized Subaru retailer may have had a non-SULEV specification part installed. Although there is no safety risk or noticeable change in vehicle operation, performance of the emission system may be insufficient to comply with required specifications.

(inside and / or outside) on vehicles equipped with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and High Beam Assist (HBA) features. Examples of these types of stickers include: * Government facility / Military base access stickers * State-mandated Vehicle Safety Inspection and Emission Compliance stickers * Parking Permit Stickers The cameras used by both of these features require a clear, unobstructed "view" through the windshield for their proper operation. The illustration below shows the "Prohibited area" in gray. Any stickers mandated to be placed within the Prohibited area should be placed to the right of the EyeSight stereo camera and HBA camera, outside of the Prohibited area as shown in the illustration below. Viewed from inside the vehicle, the left edge of the sticker must be placed no more than 14 inches (slightly less is preferred as a "cushion" for measuring variation) from the right edge of the windshield as shown in the illustration and indicated by the box outlined in blue. Always consult state and local regulations applicable to windshield sticker placement.
