Whistling Noise from Driver Side 6x9 Exterior Mirror Area Issue present on MY25 onward standard (6x9) exterior mirrors.

Read full bulletin

The hole shape and surface around the ambient temperature sensor can cause a whistle. If there are customer complaints for wind noise or whistle on the driver side the mirror temperature sensor access door could be the root cause. The cause can be verified by re-creating the issue and then taping over the sensor opening. If after taping the noise is eliminated this is the cause. The temperature sensor access door is serviceable and should be the only component replaced. Do not swap a full mirror assembly.

If an edge is rolled it can put excessive pressure on the sensor and cause the module to think that the sensor is blocked. 2. Verify the PAM PN. If the PN is 56029962AH, then the s/w is old and requires an update to at least 56029962AI level to fix the issue. If the PAM PN is 56029962AH please update it to the latest available PN.

ADJUSTER Valve Lash Customer's complaint may include a ticking noise coming from the engine.

Read full bulletin

Technician's observations can refer to spongy or stuck hydraulic lash adjusters. Exhaust lash adjusters found with a "spongy" condition (compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. EXHAUST lash adjusters are designed to be COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Intake lash adjusters found with a stiff or stuck condition (non-compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. INTAKE lash adjusters are designed to be NON COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Do Not Replace EXHAUST lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should be compressible, but they will exert a reactionary spring force during compression and return to full expansion without a compression force. Do Not Replace INTAKE lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should feel very firm and difficult to compress. Once the correct functioning of the intake and exhaust lash adjusters is validated with the procedure above, refer to the Service Manual "HYDRAULIC LIFTER(S) NOISE DIAGNOSIS" procedure. After the corresponding service procedures from the Service Manual involving the Lash Adjusters have been conducted, refer to the detailed instructions in the Service Manual to diagnose and/or service any other component.

Engine Overheating Customer Complaint/Technician Observation: Customer complaint may include engine overheating.

Discussion: When dealing with a customer complaint of engine overheating, it is most important to understand exactly what the customers definition is of overheating. An explanation from the customer of what exactly happened is necessary. Overheating descriptions could include warning lamp(s), messages in the cluster, steam/smoke coming from under the hood, gauge running higher than normal, actual engine temperature higher than what the customer considers normal, smells hot, coolant leaking under the vehicle, etc. Observed engine operating temperatures of 245 F (118 C) degrees or lower are typical and are NOT considered overheating.

These conditions may be related to worn intake camshaft high lift lobe(s), and intake rocker arm(s) high lift slider. High mileage failure (10,000-60,000 miles). 1. Remove the valve cover(s) per the released service procedures. The use of a stethoscope or DTC specific cylinder misfire codes can help to locate the condition to the left or right bank. 2. Once it has been visually confirmed that there is wear on the high lift intake lobe(s) & rocker arm(s) slider, there is a special service kit for this type of repair which should be used, instead of replacing the complete engine/long block. want to provide clarity regarding the rear door lighting configuration for DT vehicles equipped with sales code LB2. It has come to our attention that there is some confusion regarding the number of lights on DT rear doors. 1. Background: In model year MY22 and earlier, DT rear doors were equipped with three lights. However, starting from MY23, DT rear doors are correctly built with only two lights. 3. Sales Code LB2: Vehicles with sales code LB2 are designed to have two lights on the rear doors. 4. Action Required: If a customer complains about missing rear door lights on an LB2-equipped vehicle, please do not order part number 68291943AC. LB2-equipped vehicles are correctly built with two lights, and adding a third light is unnecessary. Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team.

Customer may complain the steering feels heavy while returning to steering wheel to center during a lower speed turn. Customer may also complain the vehicles pulls slightly at highway speeds. There are no DTCs associated with that scenario. Older software pull drift compensation and zero-point learning is not optimized. Read full bulletin

NOTE: This may happen more as the vehicle ages, especially if the vehicle is used extensively for towing or hauling heavy loads. The cause of the concern may be due to degradation of the rear axle fluid. It is very important to follow the routine maintenance schedules on these vehicles when it comes to changing the rear axle fluid if the vehicle is used primarily for towing or hauling heavy loads. If you experience a vehicle with the above condition, please perform the proper maintenance procedures for the rear axle and replace the fluid first before replacing any hardware components.
