Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign on certain 2016-2019 Titan Diesel vehicles identified in Service Comm and DBS National Service History. Vehicles affected by this campaign require upgraded emissions control software and hardware for model years 2016-2017 or upgraded software only for model years 2018-2019. This finding has no effect on the safety of the vehicle. Cummins and the California Air Resources Board have entered into an agreement to correct this condition. In order to implement this correction, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emission Recall Campaign. The remedy and parts are now available. Nissan dealers will update the emissions control software and install a Particulate Matter Sensor for model years 2016-2017 and update emissions control software only for model years 2018-2019. IMPORTANT: It is a violation of Federal law for dealers to sell or deliver new vehicles in their inventory covered by this notification until the campaigns remedy action is performed.): REVISION 2 Please discard earlier versions of this bulletin. Due to a supplier quality issue, that has since been corrected; the incorrect sensor may have been installed on the front wheel hub. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHED INSPECTION INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Verify if vehicles currently in dealer inventory are affected by using Service Comm or National Service History Open Campaign I.D. PC721. - New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales->Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information - Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2. Use the attached procedure to inspect and, if necessary, remedy any vehicles affected by this quality action: - If the wheel sensor part numbers are 47910-EZ10A (GOOD). No further repair is required. - If ONE or BOTH of the wheel sensor part numbers are 47910-1PA0A (NG) replace only the affected wheel sensor per the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). 3. If the battery side of the Intelligent Key is held by pinching down on the terminals while removing the battery, it is possible to bend the terminals down far enough that they will not touch the contacts on the other half of the Intelligent Key. Normal Functionality For Vehicles Built Without Door Unlock Sensor And/Or BCM Software To Support Door Unlock Sensor For Applied Vehicles built after the Applied Dates listed on page 1, using the mechanical key on the driver door will operate differently than vehicles built before the Applied Dates. For these later models, the BCM will not recognize operation of the mechanical key. If a mechanical key is used to lock the driver door: - The security system will not set. If the vehicle is broken into, the alarm will not sound. - Only the driver door will be locked. Other doors will not lock using the mechanical key. If a mechanical key is used to unlock the driver door: - Only the driver door will be unlocked. Other doors will not be unlocked. - If the security system is set, when the door is opened the alarm will sound. NOTE: Using the Unlock button on the Intelligent Key, pushing the request switch on the driver or passenger door with the Intelligent Key in range, or using the Intelligent Key to start the vehicle will silence the alarm. The mechanical key will not operate the power windows.

front differential has a fluid leak coming from the actuator motor plastic threads (Figure 1): a. Place an alignment mark on the splined actuator body and the gear carrier (Figure 2). b. Remove the actuator and thoroughly clean the threads, making sure not to allow RTV to fall into the differential case. c. Once clean, apply Three Bond sealant to the threads, and then reinstall the actuator motor, making sure to line up the alignment marks. d. Check the front differential gear oil level and top to specification. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > DRIVELINE > FRONT FINAL DRIVE: MA235/MA210 > PERIODIC MAINTENANCE > FRONT DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL DO NOT replace the front differential due to a fluid leak from the actuator motor plastic threads unless there has been consequential damage due to fluid loss (bearing failure or gear noise) to the front differential.

This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number PD127 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealers responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary emissions recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealers inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Water intrusion into one or both rear combination lamp assemblies has been found to migrate through the harness, and can cause harness connector terminals in C1/E41 to corrode (Figure 1 on page 2). Repair any damaged rear combination lamp assemblies immediately to avoid potential harness damage. Notice Harness connector terminals in C1/E41 found to be damaged through water intrusion due to a damaged rear combination lamp assembly is not warrantable.

Vehicles affected by this campaign may have been shipped to market with an Exemption label and should have been shipped with a Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label. Nissan dealers will inspect for the Exemption label and/or VECI label, and remove Exemption label if present and install VECI label if not present. ***** What Dealers Should Do**** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Emission Recall Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Campaign I.D. PD127. 2. Dealers should use NTB24-063 to remedy any vehicles affected by this campaign. 3. A Rear Final Drive Assembly should not be replaced unless bearing, gear, or other significant damage has occurred. If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the dealer. If a transfer case is leaking from either the input or output seals, first check the fluid to confirm that it is not low, discolored, and/or has an abnormal smell. If the fluid condition indicates that the transfer case has been damaged, the transfer case should be replaced. If the fluid condition is ok, replace only the leaking seal. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for the appropriate seal replacement: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > DRIVELINE > TRANSFER: TX91A. NOTE: Over-repair of the transfer case by replacement may be grounds for warranty chargeback.
