Normal Functionality For Vehicles Built Without Door Unlock Sensor And/Or BCM Software To Support Door Unlock Sensor For Applied Vehicles built after the Applied Dates listed on page 1, using the mechanical key on the driver door will operate differently than vehicles built before the Applied Dates. For these later models, the BCM will not recognize operation of the mechanical key. If a mechanical key is used to lock the driver door: - The security system will not set. If the vehicle is broken into, the alarm will not sound. - Only the driver door will be locked. Other doors will not lock using the mechanical key. If a mechanical key is used to unlock the driver door: - Only the driver door will be unlocked. Other doors will not be unlocked. - If the security system is set, when the door is opened the alarm will sound. NOTE: Using the Unlock button on the Intelligent Key, pushing the request switch on the driver or passenger door with the Intelligent Key in range, or using the Intelligent Key to start the vehicle will silence the alarm. The software update will correct a potential issue with the NissanConnect system displaying a blank screen after the vehicle is turned on. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles currently in dealer inventory are affected by using Service Comm or DBS National Service History ? Open Campaign I.D. PC612. - New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information - Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2. Use the attached procedure to reprogram the affected vehicles. - This procedure requires no tools and does not require a technician to perform - The vehicle must be in range of the service departments Wi-Fi network in order to download the software update - The person performing the update must know the service department?s password to the secure WPA2 Wi-Fi network - Refer to NPSB17-083 regarding service department Wi-Fi network requirements 3. Dealers are requested to remedy any affected vehicle in dealer new inventory to help ensure customer satisfaction. 4. The service department should submit the applicable warranty claim for the action performed so it can be closed on Service Comm and release the vehicle.

NissanConnect now has the ability to update its system?s software through a Wi-Fi connection. These updates can now be applied by the customer, using their home Wi-Fi network, without the vehicle having to return to the dealer. Updates allow the customer to take advantage of: - New features as they become available - Continuous quality and performance improvements In some cases the customer may not have access to a secured WiFi network and will need to return to the dealer to perform any available updates. The Service Procedure in this bulletin contains the instructions to perform updates via a Wi-Fi connection. IMPORTANT: - To update the software by Wi-Fi the vehicle must be within range and connected to a secure Wi-Fi network. - A password protected Wi-Fi network with WPA2 security is required to secure the update download. WARNING: During the update process, the vehicle should be kept in a well-ventilated area to avoid the exposure to Carbon Monoxide. Do not breathe exhaust gases; they contain colorless and odorless carbon monoxide. Carbon Monoxide is dangerous. It can cause unconsciousness or death. NOTE: When diagnosing a NissanConnect issue, always confirm that the latest available software is installed in the AV unit before starting a diagnosis.

variable transmissions (CVTs), and to address customer concerns including those expressed by customers in the class actions, Nissan will extend the warranty coverage on the CVT. The warranty extension includes the CVT assembly and internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals, CVT control valve body, torque converter, cooler kit (if applicable) and reprogramming of the Transmission Control Module (TCM), on the vehicles listed in this announcement. The warranty is being extended from its original duration of 60 months/60,000 miles to 84 months/84,000 miles (whichever occurs first). Coverage of other vehicle components remains unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of Nissans New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. If an owner contacts a dealer with a CVT concern in an owned or leased vehicle, verify warranty coverage for the specific VIN and then inform the customer of any diagnostic charges. NOTE: Some owners may have opted out of the warranty extension by excluding themselves from the class action settlement, thus it is important to check the VIN for each vehicle to verify coverage. 2. Use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and/or Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the customer concerns. NOTE: Dealers will need to follow the warranty process and obtain pre-approval from the Powertrain Call Center (800-973-9992, option 2) for any vehicles requiring CVT replacements when the replacement cost exceeds a Dealers Claims Administration/Authorization Limits (DCAL). Control valves and CVT belt and pulley kits do not require pre-authorization for repairs made under warranty.

a class action lawsuit gave final approval to a proposed settlement under which the CVT warranty will be extended for the following vehicles: 2014-2018 Rogue 2015-2018 Pathfinder *Not including Rogue Hybrid or Pathfinder Hybrid vehicles The approved settlement and the warranty extension are expected to become effective by June 1, 2022. Additional communication will be distributed prior to the warranty extension going into effect. Emission Recall Campaign on approximately 2,209 specific MY2018 Nissan Rogue (T32) and 5,557 specific MY2018 Altima (L33) 2.5L vehicles identified in Service Comm to inspect the engine identification markings and, if they are from the subject manufacturing lot, the suspect cylinders and spark plugs will be inspected. If necessary, dealers may replace the engine, exhaust manifold catalyst, air fuel (A/F) ratio sensor, and oxygen sensor. A machining issue in the engine may exist, which could allow oil to escape past the valve guides and enter the combustion chamber. If an affected engine is not repaired, the performance of the manifold catalyst could degrade over time and cause exhaust gas emissions to exceed standards at high mileage. This incident has no effect on safety or fuel consumption but may decrease engine performance in rare cases. If Nissan has previously replaced the engine in the vehicle due to this condition, the exhaust manifold catalyst, air fuel (A/F) ratio sensor, and oxygen sensor will be replaced. ***** What Dealers Should Do**** 1. Verify campaign applicability using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaign I.D. PC716 - Inspect Engine Identification Markings PC717 - Manifold Catalyst Replacement 2. INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary emissions recall campaign on certain specific model year 2018 Altima and Rogue vehicles. The exhaust manifold and three way catalyst assembly and two exhaust sensors will be replaced. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. In rare instances and unique roadway environments such as certain types of railroad crossings and metal overpasses, the AEB system in some vehicles may activate braking when it is not needed. The driver can always override the AEB system by pressing the accelerator. Nissan previously invited customers that had experienced an issue with their AEB system to come in for updated software before their Limited Vehicle Warranty expired.
