This "cap" will NOT have a gauge or "dipstick". This is normal. Do NOT replace the "cap" because it is thought to have a "dipstick". The fluid level is not checked from this location. The fluid level for applied vehicles is checked from the oil pan (refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual [ESM]). Whenever checking, filling, or topping off a CVT's fluid level of an applied vehicle for any reason, use the procedure outlined in the appropriate section of the ESM. These procedures are used when a complete CVT is replaced, or a CVT control valve (valve body) is replaced, or a Transmission Control Module (TCM) is replaced. See this bulletin for further detail.

This debris can contaminate the newly serviced transmission, control valve or torque converter. In severe cases this debris can block or restrict flow and may cause damage to the newly serviced CVT. SERVICE INFORMATION When a CVT, control valve or torque converter replacement is necessary for one of the applied vehicles, the CVT transmission fluid coolers (radiator based fluid cooler and external auxiliary cooler if present) must be flushed. In the event another wireless device (e.g. aftermarket alarm system) is transmitting at the same time as an I-Key, it can interfere with the I-Key signals being received by the BCM. If there is interference with I-Key signals, the following symptoms may occur: - The I-key is not detected, causing: - The engine to not start (no response when the Stop/Start button is pressed) - "I-Key System Error" displayed in the instrument cluster - "No I-Key Detected" displayed in the instrument cluster - Intermittent operation of the buttons on the remote (Key FOB). - Intermittent operation of the door request switches. ACTION Replace the valve timing control solenoid valve O-ring with a new one using the Service Procedure starting on page 2.

Voluntary Service Campaign to reprogram the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to improve CVT service diagnostics. This diagnostic software update will enhance the dealer's ability to diagnose customer concerns regarding Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) operation; it does not repair any symptoms nor alter the drive characteristics of the vehicle. Specifically, the diagnostic logic will store two new Diagnostic Trouble Codes when "Judder" symptoms occur on vehicles. - P17F0 - "Judder" caused by belt slip - PF171 - "Judder" caused by control valve In addition to the installation of diagnostic software, Nissan will also extend the warranty coverage on the CVT assembly (including internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals), CVT control valve body, and torque converter from its original duration of 60 months/60,000 miles to 84 months/84,000 miles (whichever occurs first). Coverage of other vehicle components remains unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of Nissan's New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply. This CVT warranty extension is being provided as a customer satisfaction effort to address customer concerns; including those concerns expressed by plaintiffs in class action litigation, and is subject to final approval of the settlement of that litigation. In the interim, Nissan will make any necessary repairs that would be covered under the extended CVT warranty.

Nissan?s new vehicle limited warranty does not cover physically damaged (cracked or broken) headlamps. All current headlamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). - This is necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature "variations" (warmer or colder) without damage to the headlamp. - Moisture in the air sometimes "travels" into and out of the headlamp assembly through these vents. - Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense. - The fogging/cloudiness should disappear over time when the headlamp is in a dry environment. In an effort to protect the paint finish, Paint Guard Film (PGF) is applied on many new Nissan vehicles. Paint Guard Film is a temporary white plastic protective film that is applied by the factory to the horizontal painted surfaces of the vehicle. The PGF protects the paint finish during vehicle handling, transportation and storage from harmful elements such as acid rain, iron particles, bird droppings, tree sap and other environmental contaminants. NOTE - Paint Guard Film CANNOT remain on the vehicle for more than six months after the vehicle's manufacture date. PGF must be removed at the end of six months. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90 (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown will prevent tire Flat Spotting. Each Intelligent Key can be programmed to have its own unique set of presets for certain vehicle systems.
