Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign on specific MY2013-2017 NV200 and MY2014-2017 NYC Taxi vehicles identified in Service Comm and DBS National Service History to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM). Nissan has determined that the software in the Engine Control Module (ECM) may not be calibrated properly. The On Board Diagnostic (OBD) monitor may not detect a manifold catalyst below the efficiency threshold in all circumstances as required by regulation. What Dealers Should Do: 1.Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Emissions Recall using Service Comm or DBS National Service history Open Campaign I.D. R21B3 New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2.Dealers should use NTB21-105 to remedy any vehicles subject to this campaign. 3.Once remedied, dealers should submit the claim, using the claims coding provided, and release the vehicle.

VEHICLE with DTC P0456 (EVAP VERY SML LEAK) AND - DTC P0456 is not caused by a loose fuel fill cap (refer to NTB13-097). - An EVAP leak has been detected where the vent control valve mounts to the canister. - The vent control valve O-ring seal is determined to be the cause. ACTION 1. DO NOT REPLACE the vent control valve. 2. Replace the vent control valve O-ring seal (O-ring). - Refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE on page 2.

This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number R21B3 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealers responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary emissions recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealers inventory. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties. Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.

Our goal is to deliver vehicles to customers with a 12 volt battery in excellent condition. Proper dealership storage and maintenance of vehicle 12 volt batteries is essential to insuring good battery operating life and customer satisfaction. Dealers are responsible for maintaining vehicles in their inventory. 12 volt batteries in vehicle inventory should always be kept at a full charge to prevent excessive discharge during storage and so they are ready for delivery to customers at any time. - Specifically, Tire Pressure Monitor transmitters (TPMS sensors) can be damaged when improperly dismounting and mounting tires. - TPMS sensors becoming damaged during mounting or dismounting tires are not covered under warranty. - To avoid such damage, ensure that the tire changer being used and the operator of the tire changer is capable of servicing run flat and low profile tires. - Operator?s manuals for such tire changers must be followed. The Air bag Control Unit (ACU) is located under the center console. Liquids spilled on or around the center console area or power washing the floor may contact ACU connections and the ACU circuit board. This may lead to corrosion of the ACU, which may result in illumination of the air bag warning lamp and deactivation of front air bags. In January, 2016, Nissan had dealers to install a console tag and owner's manual card in each affected vehicle in their inventory. Console tags and owner notification cards were mailed to dealers. Nissan also mailed letters affected retail customers with the same information. Nissan is now requesting Dealers to verify the air bag warning lamp is operating correctly and install foam to the center console. If the air bag warning light is not operating correctly, dealers will replace the ACU, in addition to installing the foam on the center console. Nissan expects a small amount (< 1%) of vehicles to require ACU replacement.

This "cap" will NOT have a gauge or "dipstick". This is normal. Do NOT replace the "cap" because it is thought to have a "dipstick". The fluid level is not checked from this location. The fluid level for applied vehicles is checked from the oil pan (refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual [ESM]). Whenever checking, filling, or topping off a CVT's fluid level of an applied vehicle for any reason, use the procedure outlined in the appropriate section of the ESM. The information, illustrations, and flow chart in this bulletin are provided to help you in determining if an incident for water/condensation in the headlamps is normal or not. Nissan?s new vehicle limited warranty does not cover physically damaged (cracked or broken) headlamps. All current headlamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). - This is necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature "variations" (warmer or colder) without damage to the headlamp. - Moisture in the air sometimes "travels" into and out of the headlamp assembly through these vents. - Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense. - The fogging/cloudiness should disappear over time when the headlamp is in a dry environment. However, NNA is responsible for manufacturing issues such as distorted glass and cracks that are due to improper installation or damage to the glass during vehicle assembly. In an effort to protect the paint finish, Paint Guard Film (PGF) is applied on many new Nissan vehicles. Paint Guard Film is a temporary white plastic protective film that is applied by the factory to the horizontal painted surfaces of the vehicle. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent.
