VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 2018-2022 LEAF; REAR CAMERA CAMPAIGN ID #: R23D7 APPLIED VEHICLES: 2018-2022 LEAF (ZE1)...

Read full bulletin

Check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History to confirm campaign eligibility. INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary safety recall campaign on certain specific model year 2018-2022 LEAF vehicles to inspect the rear camera operation and either add support to the rear camera harness or, if necessary, replace the rear camera. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number R23D7 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealers responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealers inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.

IMPORTANT: The LiB modules and the Li-ion Battery Controller (LBC) are not interchangeable between LiB packs. If a LiB module or the LBC requires replacement, do not look up the part number in EPC using the VIN. Use the installed LiB module or LBC part number to determine the correct LiB module or LBC to order. Due to MY18-23 LiB pack, LiB module and LBC part numbers being restricted, please follow the existing LEAF Battery Pack pre-authorization process for Powertrain Call Center review.

safety, security and satisfaction of our customers and their passengers, as well as the safety of Nissan technicians. Nissan will be conducting a voluntary service campaign in North America on certain MY 2011-19 Nissan LEAF vehicles to replace the Lithium-ion Battery Bonding Plates. The plates may corrode and in areas where road salt is extensively used, could break. In rare cases during vehicle servicing in which both plates fail, the battery cover plate is removed and the vehicle is left in READY mode, a technician could be exposed to electric shock if all EV servicing safety instructions are not followed. Although no such incidents have been reported to Nissan, this voluntary service campaign is being conducted as a preventative measure out of an abundance of caution. The issue does not affect battery or vehicle performance. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History ? Open Campaigns I.D. P9312. - New vehicles in dealer inventory can be also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information 2. Dealers are requested to repair any affected vehicles in dealer new or pre-owned inventory to ensure customer satisfaction. 3. Dealers should use NTB19-055 to remedy any vehicles subject to this campaign. 4. Once repaired, dealers should submit the claim, using the claims coding provided, and release the vehicle.

satisfaction of our customers and their passengers. Nissan will be conducting a voluntary service campaign in North America on certain MY 2019 Nissan LEAF vehicles to replace the radiator and bolt. Due to a manufacturing assembly issue, that has since been corrected, the radiator may have been damaged during vehicle assembly. An upper portion of the radiator tank may be pierced due to the assembly technician using a bolt that was longer than the design specified bolt. If seepage happens, Long Life Coolant (LLC) level may drop below the electric pump inlet resulting in rising temperature and triggering of the protection logic which will gradually cut motor torque. The vehicle may experience an EV warning light ON and Turtle Mode. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaigns I.D. PC723. - New vehicles in dealer inventory can be also be identified using DBS (Sales->Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information 2.
