Nissan is now escalating the temporary hold to a dealer inventory quality action to install a tow hitch receiver and trailer tow harness kit on 50 specific model year 2022 Frontier Crew Cab Long Wheelbase vehicles identified in Service Comm. Because of a supplier inventory issue, certain vehicles were manufactured and shipped without a tow hitch. Nissan is preforming a quality action on these vehicles in order to comply with regulatory requirements. Nissan previously adjusted vehicle pricing for removal of the towing receiver hitch prior to shipment. Other MY22 Frontier units that received a credit for tow receiver hitch deletion that are not listed in Service Comm are not subject to Stop Sale and will require no additional action. Affected vehicles are subject to stop sale and are either currently in dealer inventory or assigned and in transit to the dealer. What Dealers Should Do: PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHED INSTRUCTIONS: 1.Verify if vehicles are affected by this quality action using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaigns I.D. PC843 New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). SERVICE INFORMATION If the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) warning light or is blinking (but not illuminated steadily) or the customer states it is blinking, and there are no related DTCs, inspect the windshield. A blinking AEB warning light may occur under the following conditions: When contamination or foreign material adhere to the lane camera viewing window on the windshield. When driving while it is snowing or when frost forms on the lane camera viewing window on the windshield. When the lane camera viewing window on the windshield is temporarily fogged up. SERVICE INFORMATION The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) has the ability to send an automatic collision notification when the vehicle is involved in an accident. Once an automatic collision notification is performed, the function becomes disabled and the TCU must be reset to re-enable the automatic collision notification function. Some models will store DTC B2E1B-97 for Automatic eCAll locked as CURRENT when this function is disabled. This bulletin describes how to reset the TCU after an automatic collision notification has been performed. For models with B2E1B-97 for Automatic eCAll locked set as CURRENT, complete the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2, and then erase DTCs after confirming the TCU condition is UNLOCK.

Nissan is committed to a high level of customer service and satisfaction. This commitment requires Nissan to periodically place certain vehicles on temporary Quality Assurance (QA) Hold to ensure that these vehicles, as delivered to our customers, meet our exacting standards and our customers expectations. Effective immediately, Nissan is placing a temporary Quality Assurance (QA) Hold on 50 specific model year 2022 Frontier Crew Cab Long Wheelbase vehicles identified in Service Comm. Because of a supplier inventory issue, certain vehicles were manufactured and shipped without a tow hitch. Nissan is preforming a quality hold on these vehicles in order to comply with regulatory requirements. Nissan previously adjusted vehicle pricing for removal of the towing receiver hitch prior to shipment. Other MY22 Frontier units that received a credit for tow receiver hitch deletion that are not listed in Service Comm are not subject to Stop Sale and will require no additional action. What Dealers Should Do: 1.Verify if vehicles are affected by this quality hold using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaigns I.D. PC843 New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information Some vehicles may still be in transit.
