Control Unit (DCU) needs to be replaced on an APPLIED VEHICLE for any reason, follow the steps in the SERVICE PROCEDURE to: - Confirm proper diagnosis and repair with TECH LINE to obtain DCU order approval. - Place the order with DENSO. - Configure the Multi AV system. NOTE: - The original DCU must be installed in the vehicle while performing part of this procedure. DO NOT remove the original DCU until instructed. - The DCU order approval process does not apply to 2017 Pathfinder vehicles. TECH LINE authorization is not needed for 2017 Pathfinder vehicles. TCU (Telematics Control Unit) PAIRING ERROR If one of these DTCs is stored, follow the steps listed below along with the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to compete the required repairs. DTC B2FE0 ? Keeping the Intelligent Key awake may result in discharging its battery in a much shorter period of time than normal (premature battery discharge). Example: The Intelligent Key should not be stored in a lock box or other storage container attached to the outside of the vehicle. To prevent premature Intelligent Key battery discharge, store the Intelligent Key more than 15 feet from the vehicle. If unable to store the Intelligent Key more than 15 feet from the vehicle (for example, when a vehicle is on display in the showroom); the following steps will prevent the BCM from continuing to ?ping? the Intelligent Key: - Disable the welcome light function using the on-board methods outlined in this bulletin, or - Disable the welcome light function using the CONSULT-III plus methods outlined in this bulletin. NOTE: If an Intelligent key is routinely stored within 15 feet of a vehicle while it is in dealer inventory, the Intelligent Key battery should be replaced before the vehicle is delivered to the customer. If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the dealer. SERVICE INFORMATION An Intelligent Key, for the applied vehicles with NissanConnect, has the abillity to trigger specific customized settings for the radio, clock, heating and air conditioning (HVAC) and navigation that are unique to that key, and each Intelligent Key for a specific vehicle may have different settings stored. EXAMPLE: The vehicle may be driven by more than one person, and each driver has a personal Intelligent Key. Each driver may adjust their preferred vehicle settings differently. If two or more Intelligent Keys with different stored settings are unintentionally interchanged, one or more of the following perceived issues might be reported by the customer(s). - Radio ? Presets are lost or change - Clock ? Settings are not showing the correct time due to day-light savings or the selected region (time zone) - HVAC ? Controls are set differently - Navigation ? Settings suddenly altered If any of these perceived issues are present: - Confirm if there are multiple Intelligent Keys being used by the customer(s) interchangeably, and if so, verify that each key?s settings are different. NOTE: Customer may not recognize that different Intelligent Keys are linked differently.
