built on Freightliner chassis (NHTSA #21V 326) based on Cummins recall (NHTSA # 21E 032). In response, Newmar Corporation is issuing recall NHTSA # 21V 506 and TC # 2021-427. On certain motorhomes, as described in Cummins recall 21E-032, the fuel rail assembly on the engine may develop leaks, which may result in an undetected prolonged diesel fuel spray. A leak involving spraying/misting fuel in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.

motorhomes built on Freightliner chassis (NHTSA # 18V 913). On certain motorhomes, the steering and tie rod arm bolts that join the steering and tie rod arm to the knuckle may not have accurate torque specification data. Without torque data, DTNA cannot verify that the bolts are properly torqued to specification. In response, Newmar is releasing recall NHTSA 19V 197.

motorhomes built on Freightliner Chassis (NHTSA 18V 353). In response, Newmar Corporation is releasing recall NHTSA 18V 505 and TC # 2018-401. Issue: On certain motorhomes equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. The caliper bolts may loosen, which may lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate, potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness. This scenario would result in greater stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

Freightliner Chassis fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, ?Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.? On certain motorhomes, if the headlight high beams are activated, only the high beam bulbs illuminate. The intention of the high beam function on the affected coaches is to have both the high beam and low beam bulbs illuminate together. Issue: Driving a motorhome at night without the required illumination of the road may reduce the driver?s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.

MCD has created the attached troubleshooting instructions to diagnose the 14-channel remote and remote motors. If the original remote-controlled motor(s) failed and currently need replacing, the motors and remote(s) will be replaced with a 15-channel remote, new remote control motors, and a two-channel bedroom remote. The driver side ?Sway Shade? will also be replaced as a complete shade. Replace the bezel in the wall to ensure the proper fit of the new 15-channel remote.

Issue: On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose electrical connection to the automatic transfer switch (ATS) that was not properly tightened. If the power connection is loose, it may result in a buildup of heat at the connection, which may increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

issued field service campaign SF546AB. In response, Newmar is publishing PIB 495. Issue: On certain coaches, a check valve is missing on the auxiliary air tank, causing the tag axle steer tires to remain in a turned position when stopping the vehicle during a turn and shifting into reverse. In addition, some of these vehicles also require an air line retrofit.

jacks may have air bags that do not inflate correctly during jack retraction, which could cause air depletion from the air bags. Issue: Equalizer recommends starting the coach and allowing the chassis air pressure to build before pressing the ?All Retract? button to ensure adequate air supply to the chassis air valves. Failure to start the engine and pressurize the air system may contribute to the improper inflation of the air suspension system. Do not drive the unit without the air suspension system fully inflated. If for any reason the suspension is deflated, operate the ?All Retract? function on the jack panel while the coach is parked with the air tanks at full pressure.

defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motor homes built on Freightliner chassis. This recall is the result of information provided to Newmar by Daimler Trucks North America. NHTSA# 16V 481 TC# 2016-324 Issue: On certain motor homes manufactured by Newmar Corporation, the windshield wiper system is not operating as designed and has the potential to produce four separate issues. 1) The wiper arm may not park in the same location every time. 2) In high torque conditions such as a dry windshield, the wiper motor can stall. 3) When the wipers are turned on for any reason other than wash, the headlights would turn off when the wipers were turned off. 4) There are conditions where the wiper controls would put the motor in high with the first press of the Hi/Lo button where it should always go to low after a key cycle. If the wiper system is not performing correctly it could potentially increase the loss of control of the vehicle resulting in a crash.

On certain motorhomes, the driver and passenger power night shades may be operated using the remote when the ignition is in the ON position. If the ignition is on and the remote night shade button is pressed, the night shades may lower, blocking the side views from the driver. This may increase the risk of a crash, which may cause injury and/or property damage.

built on Freightliner chassis (NHTSA #: 16V809). In response, Newmar has filed recall NHTSA #: 16V826 and TC #: 2016-559. On the affected motorhomes, a rubber-coated braided power steering hose may have inadequate clearance to the starter power stud due to incorrect routing. The power steering hose may rub against the stud on the starter motor, which may cause an electrical arc and a power steering fluid leak. A power steering leak in the presence of an electrical arc may increase the risk of fire or may require additional steering effort, increasing the risk of a crash.

THIS RECALL IS THE RESULT OF INFORMATION PROVIDED TO NEWMAR BY DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA. NHTSA# 16V 481 TC# 2016-324 ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES MANUFACTURED BY NEWMAR CORPORATION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATING AS DESIGNED AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE FOUR SEPARATE ISSUES.
