As a result, the demand on the batteries has increased. Breakdowns due to an empty battery or problems in the vehicles electrical system can have various causes, most of which are not due to the battery itself. For this reason, a battery replacement will permanently eliminate the problem only in the rarest of cases. The energy diagnosis test module helps to localize these causes. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle discharged battery complaints. Without performing the energy diagnosis test plan, the root cause of a discharged battery cannot be identified. In order to properly repair the vehicle the first time, it is very important that the diagnostic test plan is performed to completion; with all results taken into consideration.

Air Conditioning Refrigerant R1234yf Introduction.
Read full bulletin
INFORMATION Several precautions need to be observed when working on automotive air conditioning systems: Always wear eye protection and gloves while handling refrigerant or servicing air conditioning system. Avoid breathing R1234yf lubricant vapor or mist. Use only approved service equipment to discharge A/C systems. If refrigerant or compressor oil contacts the skin or eyes, large quantities of cool water should be used to flush the affected area. Never heat a refrigerant container with an open flame. Keep all refrigerant away from open flames. Under no circumstances should R1234yf service equipment or vehicle A/C systems be pressure tested or leak tested with air/R1234yf mixtures. NOTE: The use of compressed air (shop air) for leak detection in an R1234yf system can contaminate the system and/or refrigerant with moisture. Leak detection equipment that meets the SAE J2791 standard will work with R1234yf Never use fittings for an R12 or R134a system on an R1234yf system. Any difficulty in connecting service equipment may be an indication of refrigerant/equipment incompatibility with the vehicle's system. Always carefully ascertain the type of refrigerant used in the vehicle's system before performing service. Labels on underside of hood, will detail which refrigerant is used in the air conditioning system. Service the vehicle with compatible recycling equipment ONLY. Attempts to adapt and use incompatible service tools will destroy both the vehicle's air conditioning system and the service tool. Never use any R-12/R134a service tools on R1234yf systems. Tools, such as manifold gauge sets, retain small amounts of refrigerant and lubricant. Attempting to use the same equipment on both R-12/R134a and R1234yf vehicles will contaminate the air conditioning systems. Obtain and use the correct type of refrigerant recovery/recycling machine. Follow the directions included in the machine's instruction manual. WARR

INFORMATION Currently Satellite Radio is provided by SiriusXM for MINI customers. SiriusXM is the only company currently broadcasting Satellite Radio in North America. Satellite radio was broadcast from two different sets of Satellites using different earth orbits. XM uses geosynchronous (GEO) satellites located roughly above the equator. This means that the satellite signal to some parts of the United States can come in at an angle as low as 32 degrees to the horizon. This is different than Sirius Satellites in a Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) which came in to the vehicle at a higher angle to the horizon. As of April 2016 Sirius equipped head units moved to the XM Satellites constellation and now show the same location based cutouts.

Refer to your State Law. Unique low and high side fittings. Revised evaporator core as per SAE J2842. System will use about 5% more refrigerant than a comparable R134a system. System oil is a specific PAG oil. Refer to ISTA repair recommendation. Do not interchange components between systems using other refrigerants. Do not reuse Seals / O-ring material from another system. The system piping has internal heat exchangers (IHX or IWT). SAFETY INFORMATION Several precautions need to be observed when working on automotive air conditioning systems: Always wear eye protection and gloves while handling refrigerant or servicing air conditioning system. Any difficulty in connecting service equipment may be an indication of ref

may be influencing reception quality. MINI is currently working with the wireless mobile providers in order to improve the quality of reception and help alleviate the issues that are caused by the wireless mobile expanded frequencies. Once we have more information about this situation this service information bulletin will be updated. Currently Satellite Radio is provided by SiriusXM for MINI customers via geosynchronous (GEO) satellites located roughly above the equator. This means that the satellite signal to some parts of the United States can come in at an angle as low as 32 degrees to the horizon. Due to this angle, buildings, hills, trees, highway sound blocking walls or other obstacles might block the satellite signal coming from reaching the vehicle receiver antenna and might cause audio cut outs, unless the wireless provider has installed terrestrial repeaters. Reception quality decreases the further north you travel, as the angle of the incoming signal gets smaller. Also adverse weather conditions might affect reception. At this time, in the event of a customer complaint or inquiry on interference noise: ? Do not replace any parts ? Do not program or carry out other work on the vehicle ? Explain to customer about the new Wireless Communications Service (WCS) signalsWhen investigating Satellite Radio cutouts or a temporary loss of reception: ? Please compare to a similarly equipped vehicle. Keep in mind the roofline of the vehicle, size of the antenna (sharkfin) and location of the antenna on the vehicle will all affect the strength of the reception. Do not compare a Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV) with a high roofline mounted antenna to a different vehicle such as a coupe or convertible with a much lower mounting point of the antenna.

SI M65 01 16 February 2016 Audio, Navigation, Monitors, Alarms, SRS Technical Service SUBJECT XM Satellite Radio Reception.
Read full bulletin
Currently Satellite Radio is provided by SiriusXM for MINI customers. Satellite radio is broadcast from two different sets of Satellites using different earth orbits. XM uses geosynchronous (GEO) satellites located roughly above the equator. This means that the satellite signal to some parts of the United States can come in at an angle as low as 32 degrees to the horizon. This is different than Sirius Satellites in a Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) which currently come in to the vehicle at a higher angle to the horizon. As of April 2016 Sirius equipped head units will move to the XM Satellites constellation and will show the same location-based cutouts. SiriusXM is currently updating the repeater network to cover areas of low reception, but the general disadvantage of geostationary satellites can't be compensated completely. Buildings, hills, trees, highway sound blocking walls or any other obstacles might block the satellite signal coming from the south at a 32 degree elevation angle and might cause audio dropouts in absence of terrestrial repeaters. Reception quality decreases the further north you travel, as the angle of the incoming signal gets flatter. Adverse weather conditions will affect reception. Sirius XM will increase the amount of Sirius and XM repeaters gradually to improve situation in metropolitan areas. When investigating Satellite Radio cutouts or a temporary loss of reception: z Please compare to a similarly equipped vehicle. z Do not compare an XM equipped vehicle to a Sirius equipped vehicle. z Replace no parts Customers should direct all reception complaints to MINI Customer Relations department at 1-866275-6464 Customers must provide: z the exact location (street address or Latitude/Longitude) of dropout z weather conditions z time of day the drop occurred.
