Owner notifications will be sent over a period of several weeks consistent with parts availability. To ensure customer satisfaction, Lexus requests that dealers complete Safety Recalls/Special Service Campaigns on any used vehicles currently in dealer inventory prior to customer delivery. However, if the campaign cannot be completed (for example, due to remedy parts availability), delivery of a covered vehicle is acceptable if disclosed to the customer that the vehicle is involved in a Safety Recall/Special Service Campaign. Lexus expects dealers to use the attached Customer Contact and Vehicle Disclosure Form to obtain vehicle buyer information. Dealers are expected to provide a copy of the completed form, along with the most current FAQ for that campaign, to the vehicle buyer. Lexus and the dealer may use this information to contact the customer when the remedy becomes available.

ST004-01, SU001-08, and L-SB-0174-08. The aforementioned bulletins are obsolete, and any printed versions should be discarded. Be sure to review the entire content of this service bulletin before proceeding. This Service Bulletin provides best practice procedures for vehicle pulling complaint, diagnosis, and repair for 2002 ? 2021 model year Lexus vehicles. This information supplements Repair Manual procedures when the symptoms are: ?Vehicle Pulling: The vehicle moves to the right or left when the driver holds the steering wheel while driving straight ahead without exerting steering effort. ?Steering Wheel Off Center: The vehicle travels straight, but the steering wheel is not pointed straight ahead. The vehicle is not pulling. Before repairing a vehicle pulling to one side, it is necessary to clearly identify the cause of the pulling condition. Frequently, pulling to one side is diagnosed as a wheel alignment concern. However, the actual cause may be related to the lateral force generated by the tires, vehicle damage, road crown or worn components. Performing a wheel alignment when tire force is the cause could result in the wheel alignment being set at a value outside of specifications. This could then cause other problems such as uneven tire wear, etc. A customer may notice a pull to the left when in the left lanes of travel and notice a pull to the right or no pull when traveling in the right lanes of travel on the very same section of roadway. This road crown effect is environmental and cannot be corrected with suspension adjustments or any other wheel or tire modification discussed in this bulletin.

There are multiple benefits of this oil, including: Reduced friction and wear on engine surfaces, improved fuel economy, Reduction in waste oil stream (in vehicles approved for 10,000 mile oil change intervals), Reduced maintenance cost (in vehicles approved for 10,000 mile oil change intervals). Due to the improved performance and durability of 0w20 synthetic oil, Lexus has extended the oil change intervals to 10,000 miles for vehicles that require this oil. With this change, the following should be noted: Only Lexus vehicles in which 0w20 oil is mandatory have been approved for the extended oil intervals. Vehicles in which 0w20 is an option to 5w20 (or 5w30) will continue to require 5,000 mile change intervals, even if 0w20 oil is used. In the case of vehicles with 10,000 mile oil change intervals, the 5,000 mile service interval has not been eliminated. The traditional 5,000 maintenance procedures (such as tire rotation) will continue to be required, and the fluid levels (including engine oil) will need to be checked and adjusted at this time. If the vehicle operation meets the standard criteria for "Special Operating Conditions" such as: driving off road, on dirt roads, towing a trailer, making repeated short trips under 32F, or extensive idling; the engine oil must be replaced at 5,000 mile intervals, regardless of oil specified.

The dashboard (instrument panel) and interior trim panels are covered by Lexus? New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 4 years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first). However, because we at Lexus care about each customer?s ownership experience, Lexus is now offering a voluntary Customer Support Program that applies to cracked and/or sticky dashboard (instrument panel) and/or certain interior trim panels of covered vehicles as a result of heat, humidity, and light intensity, regardless of whether the vehicle is out of warranty. The following information is provided to inform you and your staff of the program notification schedule and your degree of involvement.

Special Service Tools: Injector Seal Tool Sets.
Read full bulletin
In the event that injector seal repair is required on vehicles equipped with a direct injection fuel system, a Special Service Tool Set is required to properly install the seal onto the injector. As new vehicle configurations have been released, several injector seal tool sets have been distributed to accommodate these new vehicles. There are a total of three injector seal tool sets for Lexus models, located in the appropriate SST cabinets. Each kit contains multiple pieces as shown in the diagram below. The individual pieces must remain together to ensure these tools are used correctly. Refer to the repair manual for the tool information to ensure the correct tool is used for the desired application.

Some models are equipped with front and rear wheels of different offsets or width.

Wheel offset, defined as the distance between the wheel?s centerline and the wheel-to-rotor mounting surface, affects the clearance between the back of the wheel and surrounding brake components (Figure 1). Installation of a wheel with an offset or width different than the correct specification, such as installing the rear wheel on the front, can cause damage to brake components due to interference between the wheel and adjacent parts. The wheel could contact the brake caliper thereby introducing stress into the caliper, brake rotor, and potentially other components. In some cases, this stress could contribute to cracking or separation of the brake rotor.
TechTip: Some models are equipped with front and rear wheels of different offsets or width.

even one lug nut over or under torqued, can cause a vibration issue * When lug nuts are over torqued, this causes the rotor to have a runout out condition which can lead to brake vibration concerns * Brake vibration issues can occur at parking lot to highway speeds * Brake vibration issues can occur at light to moderate braking * Tightening lug nuts in a star pattern method during the torqueing process will assure that even/equal pressure is applied across the rotor hub surface * Torque sticks/wrenches should be used to apply accurate torque values when tightening * Do Not use impact guns/ratchets to completely run lug nuts up to the wheel surface

Air Bags & Safety
2 bulletinsBeginning in 1998, Lexus introduced side airbags as optional equipment.

Lexus does NOT recommend replacement of original seat covers with non-Lexus leather or other seat cover materials on vehicles due to the following: Seat covers NOT recommended by Lexus may affect side airbag performance, in general or in part, during an accident. Modifications that negatively affect side airbag performance can result in severe occupant injuries. Seat covers are an integral part of this safety system. Replacing fabric seat covers with non-Lexus leather or other seat cover materials may compromise the effectiveness of this safety system. The design of the seat is complex, integrating safety and strength with comfort and luxury. Lexus strongly discourages modifying original equipment seats that have optional side airbags. Additionally, Lexus strongly advises against the installation or use of aftermarket seat covers, which could impair the performance of the side airbags in the event of an accident.
