Parking Distance Warning (PDW) alerts and repairs involving ultrasonic sensors. The PDW system alerts the driver while parking, by calculating distance based on the difference in signal transmission and reception times between the vehicle (ultrasonic sensor) and an object. The membrane film of the ultrasonic sensor is used for object detention and can be damaged by stone chips or foreign substances while driving. Damage to the cover of the ultrasonic sensor can also lead to damage to the internal circuit. As a result of this external damage, the PDW system may not receive the proper signal from the ultrasonic sensor. In some cases, the system may cause a false alarm, no alert, or phantom warnings by a Warning Lamp to be displayed on the cluster. The ultrasonic sensor membrane film should be always inspected for external damage and if any part replacement should be treated as a general repair, not as a warranty claim repair for this concern. (Please note that this Pitstop only applies to models/trims that are equipped with the ultrasonic sensors.)

The shift lever detent dampers angled design may cause interference between the detent damper and the shift lever Park 'P' switch resulting in the Integrated Body Control Unit (IBU) not registering 'P'. This can render the Remote Start function inoperative when either using the key fob or Kia Access App.

This Pitstop provides information regarding the Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) with Rear Door Logic system on all 21MY~ models equipped with this feature. This system is designed to help prevent a rear passenger from being left inside the vehicle when exiting. The "Check Rear Seats" message will display on the cluster when driver opens the front door, if during vehicle operation the rear doors (one or both) were opened and closed.

bulletin provides information to repair an inoperative Dynamic Bending Light (DBL) by replacing the moisture absorbent and bracket on some 2018-2022MY Stinger (CK) vehicles produced from October 11, 2017 through April 27, 2022, which may exhibit a MIL 'ON' with DTC B232509 or B232609 (active or pending). This may be due to an expanded moisture absorbent causing the bracket to interfere with the DBL module. New parts are available to address this condition (see chart below for details).
