Safety Recall Interim Notification Certain vehicles may have an oversized magnet carrier in the throttle pedal assembly.
Read full bulletin
The magnet carrier acts as the pivot for the throttle pedal. An oversized magnet carrier may cause the throttle pedal to stick. If the throttle pedal fails to return to idle, or sticks, it may increase the risk of a crash. Drivers may feel sticking or that the pedal doesnt return to idle once released. Pressing the service brake will overcome a stuck throttle pedal and allow the vehicle to stop. This bulletin will be updated when parts and procedures are available.

level parts and software on certain Model Year 2024 chassis. Reference the Retrofit Parts Matrix in the Links section below to determine which chassis are eligible and parts required to complete the Retrofit. The emissions exemption for all PACCAR MX powered chassis involved in this retrofit expires on 10/31/2024. After that date, all PACCAR MX powered chassis that have not received this Retrofit will be out of emissions compliance and illegal to operate. Certain Cummins powered chassis listed on the Retrofit Parts Matrix may also require completion of Cummins Retrofit C7014, accessed through Cummins QuickServe. Cummins powered chassis may also be subject to emissions exemption expiration. Refer to engine emissions label to determine if an exemption expiration date applies. Chassis equipped with PACCAR MX engines will receive redesigned fuel injectors to optimize engine performance.

Safety Recall Certain T280/T380/T480 chassis built with 2.1m Medium Duty End of Frame Trailer Connections and Tractor Protection Valves may not meet the standard trailer brake release timing requirements by 0.5 seconds. A delay in the trailer brake release may create momentary instability to the trailer and increase the risk of a crash.
Parts and repair procedures are now available.

Kenworth has determined that a safety defect exists in certain Model Year 2021-2024 T280, T380, and T480 chassis with air brakes. The brake pedal plunger which connects the brake pedal to the brake valve may dislodge after the pedal is fully depressed, and rapidly released (side slip foot brake release). If the plunger in the brake pedal assembly dislodges, the driver may be unable to apply the service brakes, which may increase the risk of a crash.

holder that is connected directly to the battery for constant power. This fuse powers a 70A relay that is used for the safety systems of the truck and is located on the right rear side of the battery box. Due to the fitment of the battery box lid from the chassis manufacturers, moisture and debris are able to fall through the space between the battery box lid and side of the battery box body. This may lead to corrosion of the fuse and holder, which may result in failure of the fuse, loss of current flow, and ultimately the inability to operate the truck. This quality issue affects Kenworth T380 and Peterbilt 537 chassis on Jarco propane bobtail units produced from January 2023 until January 2024.
