Mopar all-weather floor mats, especially the front mats. The all-weather mats are installed without removing the slit/perforation portion of the front carpet, which blocks the drain port on the all-weather mats completely and does not allow water/any liquid to get drained out of the vehicle through the drain hole on the underbody floor. Correct Installation Method for Mopar All-Weather Floor Mats 1. Find the slit/perforation on the front carpet (near the outboard mat post on the carpet )and cutout that piece from carpet. 2. Remove Drain Plug on the drain hole on the underbody floor 3. Install the All-Weather Mat. Make sure the mats built-in drain port lines up correctly into the drain hole on the floor. 4. Insert the drain plug in the drain port on all-weather mat to close the drain port. The plug is to be removed whenever there is need to drain water on the mat or to wash out dirt without removing the mat form the vehicle.
Issue Description In JL/JT vehicles, the front carpets have a perforated section below the drain plug instead of a fully punched-out hole.

This causes several problems: . Dealers often install all-weather mats without removing the carpet cutout, which completely blocks the drain. . Missing drain plug claims occur because the plug is not clearly visible. . Customers find it difficult to locate and access the drain plug, especially when the vehicle is muddy. Correct Installation Method for Mopar All-Weather Floor Mats To ensure proper drainage, follow these steps: 1. Identify the Issue: . Some owners place the all-weather mats directly over the carpet, blocking the drain hole even though the mat has a drain port. 2. Locate the Carpet Cutout: . Under the mat area, there is a pre-cut carpet section designed to be removed. 3. Remove the Carpet Piece and Plug: . Lift or cut out the small square of carpet to expose the metal floor. . Remove the rubber drain plug from the Jeeps floor. 4. Install the Floor Mat: . Place the all-weather mat back into position. . Align the mats built-in drain tube with the drain hole on the floor to form a proper seal. 5. Reinstall the Plug into the Mat: . Insert the drain plug (removed from the floor) into the drain hole on the mat. . This allows you to open the plug anytime to wash out dirt or water without removing the mats. Benefits . Enables washing the mats with a hose while they remain inside the vehicle; water drains directly to the ground instead of soaking the carpet. . Prevents water from getting trapped under the mat, avoiding carpet damage.

Technician's observations can refer to spongy or stuck hydraulic lash adjusters. Exhaust lash adjusters found with a "spongy" condition (compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. EXHAUST lash adjusters are designed to be COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Intake lash adjusters found with a stiff or stuck condition (non-compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. INTAKE lash adjusters are designed to be NON COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Do Not Replace EXHAUST lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should be compressible, but they will exert a reactionary spring force during compression and return to full expansion without a compression force. Do Not Replace INTAKE lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should feel very firm and difficult to compress. Once the correct functioning of the intake and exhaust lash adjusters is validated with the procedure above, refer to the Service Manual "HYDRAULIC LIFTER(S) NOISE DIAGNOSIS" procedure. After the corresponding service procedures from the Service Manual involving the Lash Adjusters have been conducted, refer to the detailed instructions in the Service Manual to diagnose and/or service any other component.

Upon further investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC): - P152E Engine -Hood Switch 2 Circuit High. - DTC P152F Customers may also experience: - Start/Stop system warning light. - Start/Stop inoperable. - Remote start inoperable. Diagnosis: - Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other than the one listed are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. - If any vehicle exhibits any of the symptoms listed above in the customer symptom section, perform the Repair Procedure. - Special Tools/Equipment: wiTECH or equivalent. Repair Procedure: 1. Open the hood and locate the hood switch 2. Push in on the two locking tabs and pull them out. 3. Disconnect the wire connector from the switch. 4. Connect the wires to the same hood switch. 5. Push the switch back into the hold until both lock tab are engaged. 6. Clear all DTCs that may have been set in any module during this repair procedure. 7. In case the P152F/P152E DTCs persist, repeat the procedure with a new/spare/known good switch and repeat steps 5 and 6. 8. Replace switch installed during previous step for the original switch of the vehicle. If DTCs P152F/P152E are not present, leave the original switch installed and do not document the change of the switch in the repair process/narrative.

In repair procedure the dealerships are replacing the CAN star block connector during their root cause process with returned parts showing no trouble found. Here is a list of steps the dealers can follow to determine if they have a defective CAN star block connector using a multimeter: Step 1: Visually review CAN star block for damage and ensure back cover has all locking tabs engaged. If a bent pin, cracked or damaged housing or locking tab is not engaged is observed then replacement is required. Step 2: Identify Connector #1 as the 3 Pin Connector cavity Step 3: Measure resistance between Pin#1 and Pin#2 in Connector #1. Acceptable values are 120.4 Ohms to 139.8 Ohms. If resistance is outside of this range then replacement is required. Step 4: Measure the continuity between Pin#1 in Connector #1 to Pin#1 in each of the other 2 Pin connector cavities. If continuity is not found then a replacement is required. Step 5: Measure the continuity between Pin#2 in Connector #1 to Pin#2 in each of the other 2 Pin connector cavities. If continuity is not found then a replacement is required.
