and repair an Espar Hydronic S3 Heater (GEN 3). The Espar Hydronic S3 (GEN 3) Auxiliary Heater is a diesel-fired coolant heater for maintaining cabin heat without running the engine. The heater uses fuel from the fuel tank to heat coolant before it goes to the heater core in the sleeper HVAC unit. The heater is located under the cab's sleeper area and is powered by the vehicle's batteries.

This is by design to reduce torsional vibrations. See Dana/Spicer letter here & Meritor here. Dana DS404 rear axle housing families use offset interaxle driveshaft phasing to reduce torsional vibrations. Depending on the interaxle driveshaft series, the phasing will be different. Vehicles built with 0417LTFXXXX drivelines until 03/23/2009 use 32 degree phasing, while vehicles built with 0417LTGXXXX drivelines from 3/12/2009 to current use 48 degree phasing. There is an overlap of 11 days where either shaft could have been used.

This can affect all LT, RH, MV, HV models, 2021MY and up HX, 2024MY and up CE Bus with BCM kernel version 752, 753, and 754. Vehicles built or updated with DLB between 6/1/25 and 11/4/25 are suspected of having these kernels installed on the BCM. The most common complaint is that the steering wheel switches do not function, which, depending on the vehicle model and options, can cause the bus door, pupil warning lights, radio controls, marker interrupt, and cruise control to stop working. Other complaints can include short circuit faults from multiple sensor circuits attached to the BCM setting at the same time, the vehicle will not go into gear, the headlights are stuck on, the brake lights are stuck on, or the parking brake alarm is sounding (horn chirping) with the parking brake set. As of 11/4/25, these symptoms can be resolved by updating the BCM to kernel 755 or later with DLB.

sensors used by the BCM and PIM module to determine if the operator of the vehicle is applying the service brakes. All S13 vehicles are equipped with BCM feature 597483 (BCM PROG, BRAKE SWITCH, Use With Brake Application Pressure Switch). 597483 uses a normally open brake pressure switch that closes with 2-6 psi of air pressure and a brake application pressure sensor. When the switch is closed or the pressure sensor reads higher than 4psi, the BCM considers the brakes applied and will broadcast that over the J1939 networks to other modules. The S13 also includes a redundant brake switch that is wired directly to the PIM. This switch is normally closed and opens with 2-6 psi of air pressure. If the S13 ECM believes the brakes are applied from one of these brake signals, it can reduce or completely cut throttle input.

This tool is designed to compare Diamond Logic feature data across multiple vehicle configuration files.

Read full bulletin

It allows users to quickly load files either manually or directly from the Diamond Logic Builder Vehicles folder using VIN-based selection. As files are added or removed, the comparison runs automatically with no manual action required. The program presents results in an interactive table that shows feature codes, descriptions, access levels, and whether each feature is present in each selected file. Built-in search, filtering, and sorting make it easy to locate specific features or focus only on differences between files. Column visibility can be customized to show or hide descriptions and access information as needed. Users can remove files individually or clear all files at once, with results updating instantly. The tool also includes reporting and export options that reflect exactly what is visible on screen, allowing results to be printed, copied, saved as text, or exported to CSV for use in Excel or other spreadsheet tools. Overall, the program streamlines the process of comparing vehicle feature configurations, helping users quickly identify differences, validate setups, and document results without manual comparison or external tools.
