The previous software update did not fully address the intended concerns. INFINITI is launching a new CSI that will provide clients with a free Infotainment software update, which includes Wireless Apple CarPlay. The CSI will be available until June 30, 2022. The update will bring the vehicles software to current production level, improve system overall performance, and enable clients use of Apple CarPlay wirelessly. For more information on Apple CarPlay, please refer to: INFINITI Apple CarPlay Features & FAQs INFINITIs InTouch system is designed to improve the driving experience. Certain Model Year 2020 and 2021 INFINITI vehicles are already equipped with Apple CarPlay to enhance iPhone users experience with iOS13 and later, but they currently require a USB cord connection to an iPhone to use. The update eliminates the need to remove the iPhone from ones pocket or bag. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. This upgrade will bring the vehicles infotainment software up to current production level, improve system overall performance, and enable wireless use of current Apple CarPlay features. RETAILER RESPONSIBILITY It is the retailers responsibility to check SERVICE COMM using Service Comm I.D. PC882 for the status on each vehicle falling within the range of this client satisfaction initiative, which for any reason enters the service department. If a vehicle subject to this client satisfaction activity was part of a retailer trade, the letter associated with that vehicle should be forwarded to the appropriate retailer for upgrade completion.

The announcement from October 6, 2021 has been updated to highlight the following important information: Retailers should ensure they are using the most recent version of the CONSULT III operating system. Ensure that the technician has configured the audio/IT unit as instructed beginning with step 27 of the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). Retailers should assist every customer with (1) removing ALL paired phones,(2) pairing their phone with the vehicle again before they leave the dealership, and (3) verifying Wireless CarPlay is working for iPhone users (See page 2 of this announcement) Ensure that YES is selected on the vehicle when prompted to deactivate Wi-Fi to use Wireless CarPlay (provide owners a copy of the instructions on page 6 of this announcement) Notify owners that some vehicles may have initial location accuracy concerns after the software update. This is not a unique issue for INFINITI and will self-correct within a few days.(see page 7) Please print a copy of the phone pairing instructions (page 6) for the owner to use with pairing other phones back to their vehicle.

This behavior is normal, and no repairs should be performed. When the AEB system performs an intentional shutdown, the customer may state the following: The ICC stopped working while driving, The AEB/FEB warning light is ON, or turned ON, while driving (Figure 1), The message Unavailable Front Radar Obstruction or Forward Driving Aids Temporarily Disabled Front Sensor Blocked See Owner's Manual has displayed while driving (Figure 2). Attempting to start the vehicle, or turning the ignition ON, while using the high amperage quick charge could potentially damage the fuel pump control module. Only turn the ignition ON when either the ESM or a technical service bulletin service procedure states to do so, and only while using a battery maintainer or smart charger set to reflash mode, or a similar setting. Battery voltage should not exceed 16V during a reprograming operation.

SERVICE INFORMATION The Applied Vehicles are equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). With an active Infiniti InTouch Services subscription the TCU communicates with the Infiniti Data Center to provide various security and convenience services. This bulletin contains important service procedures that must be performed properly in order to set-up and maintain the telematics system for the Applied Vehicles. A table has been provided on the next page that lists the model and year-specific steps required to successfully configure a TCU after it has been replaced. A check OFF sheet has been provided on page 11 to print and check off steps as they are performed. Please staple the completed Check OFF Sheet to the repair order.

Once an automatic collision notification is performed, the function becomes disabled and the TCU must be reset to re-enable the automatic collision notification function. Some models will store DTC B2E1B-97 for Automatic eCAll locked as CURRENT when this function is disabled. This bulletin describes how to reset the TCU after an automatic collision notification has been performed. For models with B2E1B-97 for Automatic eCAll locked set as CURRENT, complete the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2, and then erase DTCs after confirming the TCU condition is UNLOCK.

found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (cv Joint Boot Kit) availability. If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the retailer. If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to ITB21-002 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.
