continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), and to address client concerns including those expressed by clients in the class actions, INFINITI will extend the warranty coverage on the CVT. The warranty extension includes the CVT assembly and internal CVT components, gaskets, and seals, CVT control valve body, torque converter, cooler kit (if applicable) and reprogramming of the Transmission Control Module (TCM), on the vehicle listed in this announcement. The warranty is being extended from its original duration of 72 months/70,000 miles to 96 months/94,000 miles (whichever occurs first). Coverage of other vehicle components remains unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of INFINITIs New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. If an owner contacts a retailer with a CVT concern in an owned or leased vehicle, verify warranty coverage for the specific VIN and then inform the client of any diagnostic charges. NOTE: Some owners may have opted out of the warranty extension by excluding themselves from the class action settlement, thus it is important to check the VIN for each vehicle to verify coverage. 2. Use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and/or Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to diagnose the root cause of the client concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the client concerns. NOTE: Retailers will need to follow the warranty process and obtain pre-approval from the Powertrain Call Center (800-973-9992, option 2) for any vehicles requiring CVT replacements when the replacement cost exceeds a Dealers Claims Administration/Authorization Limits (DCAL).

action lawsuit gave final approval to a proposed settlement under which the CVT warranty will be extended for the following vehicle: 2015-2018 QX60 *Not including QX60 Hybrid model vehicles The approved settlement and the warranty extension are expected to become effective by June 1, 2022. Additional communication will be distributed prior to the warranty extension going into effect. To be clear, for the time being there is no warranty extension, and you should proceed with CVT-related claims as outlined below in bullet point three (3) under What Retailers Should Do. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. No action is necessary at this time. INFINITI will provide additional instructions prior to the effective date of the extended warranty, which is expected to be June 1, 2022. 2. If a client contacts the retailer with a CVT concern in an owned or leased vehicle, retailers should use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to diagnose the root cause of the client concern and identify the correct repair to resolve the client concerns. NOTE: Retailers will need to follow the warranty process and obtain pre-approval from the Powertrain Call Center (800-973-9992 Option 2) for any vehicles requiring CVT assemblies to be replaced. Valve bodies and CVT belt and pulley kits do not require pre-authorization. 3. If the vehicle is no longer covered by a powertrain or parts warranty, provide owners a repair estimate for test drive, diagnosis, and repair after consulting the Goodwill rental guidelines available in the Assurance Product Resources Manual (APRM) for detailed information regarding application of rental reimbursement.

Engine Control Module (ECM) Reprogram California Voluntary Emission Service Campaign ***** Campaign Summary ***** ...

Read full bulletin

INFINITI is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign on approximately 49,497 specific INFINITI vehicles identified in Service Comm and currently registered to owners in the state of California to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) in the event that a permanent diagnostic trouble code (P-DTC) for P0448, P0101, P2008, or P0087 is recorded in the ECM. Due to calibration errors on the affected vehicles, the ECM may improperly store a permanent diagnostic trouble code (P-DTC) even though the emissions on-board diagnostic system is functioning properly. As of July 1, 2019 the State of California has implemented a revised Inspection Maintenance (I/M) or Smog Check test program. Without the software update, the subject vehicles may not pass this Smog Check test in those areas of California where such testing is required under state law. This incident has no effect on the safety, performance, drivability, or fuel consumption of the applicable vehicles. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaign I.D. P9329 Affected Model Year 2015 P9344 Affected Model Year 2016 P9346 Affected Model Year 2017 P9348 Affected Model Year 2018 P9350 Affected Model Year 2019 2. Retailers are requested to repair any affected vehicles in retailer new or pre-owned inventory to ensure client satisfaction. - New vehicles in retailer inventory can also be identified DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to IPSB 15-286 for additional information 3. Infiniti USA Electronic Field Communication Subject: Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report Lists Updated The lists...

for each retailer?s Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report has been updated today in DBS. We made our best effort to reassign vehicles to retailers based on the most recent owner information we received. The complexity of filtering out brokers (banks, salvage yards, and insurance companies) and reassigning VINs based on updated owner information affected over 123K records between INFINITI and Nissan, so we are unable to summarize the changes at a regional or retailer level. We suggest the retailers download their lists and have their outbound call centers compare information if necessary. If you have questions, please let us know. Additionally, we will have some enhancements coming in DBS effective November 17, 2018: Owner Data Updates (NNA side): 1. VIN, Campaign Code, and Source are the unique fields 2. Compare all fields except Remove Flag and Comments to see if there is a difference. a. If there is same VIN, Camp ID, and Source and all other fields are also the same then the record will be updated without changing Remove Flag and Comment field b. If there is same VIN, Camp ID, and Source and any other field is different, then the record will be inserted, in this case Remove Flag and Comment field will be blank as this is new record. The remove flag is being removed so the retailer will understand the information they previously flagged for removal has been updated and should be tried again before reapplying the removal flag. c. The retailer benefit of A & B above is duplicate records for the same VIN, Camp ID, and information source with the same customer contact information will no longer display in DBS on the Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report.

equipped with INFINITI InTouch (Intelligent Key). SERVICE INFORMATION An Intelligent Key, for the applied vehicles with INFINITI InTouch?, has the abillity to trigger specific customized settings for the radio, clock, heating and air conditioning (HVAC) and navigation that are unique to that key, and each Intelligent Key for a specific vehicle may have different settings stored. EXAMPLE: The vehicle may be driven by more than one person, and each driver has a personal Intelligent Key. Each driver may adjust their preferred vehicle settings differently. If two or more Intelligent Keys with different stored settings are unintentionally interchanged, one or more of the following perceived issues might be reported by the customer(s). - Radio ? Presets are lost or change - Clock ? Settings are not showing the correct time due to day-light savings or the selected region (time zone) - HVAC ? Controls are set differently - Navigation ? Settings suddenly altered If any of these perceived issues are present: - Confirm if there are multiple Intelligent Keys being used by the customer(s) interchangeably, and if so, verify that each key?s settings are different. NOTE: Customer may not recognize that different Intelligent Keys are linked differently.

ask its retailers to urgently help increase customer participation in the Takata recalls to help it achieve 100% customer recall participation for the following vehicles: ? 2001 I30 ? 2002-04 I35 ? 2003-08 FX ? 2002-03 QX4 ? 2006-10 M Sedan INFINITI expects to upload the next refreshed owner list to DBS within the next week. We will also be reassigning VINs to retailers based on information changes. We didn?t reassign any VINs in Q2 to avoid any mid-quarter objective impact. If VINs were repaired out of network, the retailer/region with the original assignment received credit for the repair. This is an extremely serious safety issue and INFINITI is taking significant and unprecedented steps to increase client recall participation but it needs retailer help to achieve its remedy goals. A separate communication will be released later this month informing regional personnel of the requirements for bonus payout in Q3 and Q2 results. The Q3 objective is based on the average number of repairs in Q2 multiplied by the number of service days in Q3 (Mon-Sat minus any holidays). Retailer engagement is critical with this effort. It is a company-wide responsibility to make it a priority to replace these dangerous airbag inflators in affected vehicles. Further, increasing recall participation represents significant gross profit opportunity for our retailers.
