Note: It is important that both the ECM and TCM are updated to the latest software. Not updating both modules may result in additional undesired vehicle performance. If the ECM and TCM have the latest calibrations, refer to SI for the DTC set or existing condition. Validate the ECM and TCM have the latest software calibration. If the ECM and TCM are not at the latest calibration, using TIS2Web, select (K20/K71) Engine and Transmission Control Module. ⇒ Both modules must be reprogrammed sequentially to the latest software calibration available. Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, and GMC Yukon vehicles may have a condition where customers may experience increased brake pedal effort, hard brake pedal, and/or potentially increased stopping distance. The condition is more prevalent at low speed when softly applying the brakes. The engine mounted mechanical vacuum pump output may decrease over time decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist. Failure to follow recommended oil change intervals could contribute to this condition. The Driver?s Information Center, (DIC) ?Service brake assist? alert will activate 2-5 minutes after the vacuum level drops, and a Diagnostic Trouble Code, (DTC) will also be set. Even where this condition occurs, the hydraulic brake system remains functional but may require additional pedal force. Dealers are to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

Technician will test to determine if the crank shaft end play is within specification 0.0015?0.0086 inch. If end play is found to be out of specification, remove engine and inspect for possible crankshaft thrust bearing and/or crankshaft for wear. Inspect thrust bearing for wear on one side and crankshaft on that "mating" surface. If the thrust bearing has three vertical channels worn off replace connecting rod bearings, main bearings, thrust bearing and crankshaft. If working on a Corvette the oil tank with lines and oil cooler are both required to be replaced if equipped

In 2017 the K2XX introduced a “Driver Door Open Prime” (DDOP) feature that improves cold startability. The engineering investigation has determined that an intermittent pulse on the ECM RUN/CRANK input (during vehicle door unlock), initializes the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) diagnostics that falsely sets P2101 when the DDOP occurs as the customer opens the driver door. Many of the reported P2101 failures show that the vehicle battery was in a reduced charge state (new dealer stock or extended radio operation with the engine off).Run the engine for 1 minute, soak the vehicle for 5 hours (required to re-initialize the DDOP) and verify that the P2101 does not reset.Return the vehicle to the customer

Transport Bus Diagnostic Tool Kit (EL-51578) has been released to help diagnose any of the Media Oriented Systems Transport bus concerns. The kit contains header connectors that are installed to bypass Media Oriented Systems Transport bus modules. The bypass connector also contains a terminal for verifying Media Oriented Systems Transport control circuit voltages. Technician should review Media Oriented Systems Transport bus description and operation and Diagnostic Trouble Code U0028 diagnostic procedures.

guidelines are temporarily not available at times but the RVC will remain on during the concern. Additionally, no related DTCs will be found if this bulletin applies. One example of when this concern may be observed is if a customer quickly starts the car and immediately places the shifter in Reverse while the infotainment system is still in the initial boot up process. Cause This is a result of the RVC image being provided via an alternate robust RVC feed from the Video Bypass Module (NGI systems) or from the radio (BYOM2 and Info 3.0 systems). This alternate robust RVC feed is provided in the event that the primary RVC feed is not available for any reason just to ensure that the RVC image is always present when in reverse. Correction If this concern is experienced and no related codes are present, DO NOT replace any parts as it is normal for the RVC guidelines not to be present when the RVC image being displayed is from the alternate robust RVC feed. If this occurs after quickly starting the vehicle and immediately placing the shifter in Drive, the RVC guidelines can be displayed again in most cases if they are really needed by safely coming to a stop, placing the transmission in Park for a moment, and then shifting to Reverse again.

vehicle following the adding transmitters without Service Programming System procedure the procedure will not complete and a message "Remote Learn Pending" will be displayed on the Driver Information Center. In the past to perform the new transmitter procedure only one previously learned transmitter was required but this is no longer the case. Now, two previously learned transmitters are required to be placed into the cup holder and then the new transmitter to be programmed placed in the transmitter pocket. If this new procedure is not followed, the "adding transmitters without Service Programming System" cannot be performed. The technician will be forced to add a transmitter using Service Programming System.
