In some circumstances, some 2014-2017 model year Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, and GMC Yukon vehicles may have a condition where customers may experience increased brake pedal effort, hard brake pedal, and/or potentially increased stopping distance. The condition is more prevalent at low speed when softly applying the brakes. The engine mounted mechanical vacuum pump output may decrease over time decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist. Failure to follow recommended oil change intervals could contribute to this condition. The Driver?s Information Center, (DIC) ?Service brake assist? alert will activate 2-5 minutes after the vacuum level drops, and a Diagnostic Trouble Code, (DTC) will also be set. Even where this condition occurs, the hydraulic brake system remains functional but may require additional pedal force. Please understand that even if the vehicle exhibits this condition, it meets all federal motor vehicle safety standards for brake performance. Dealers are to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

17067 - Product Emissions Recall.
Read full bulletin
General Motors has decided to conduct a Voluntary Emission Recall on certain vehicles equipped with a 6.6L diesel (LML) engine and dual fuel tanks (N2N). Under certain driving conditions, fuel may not be transferred from the rear fuel tank to the front fuel tank at a sufficient rate. If this occurs, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2636 will set, the malfunction indicator lamp will illuminate, the fuel gauge will display empty, and the transfer pump will be disabled until serviced. If the vehicle continues to be driven, it will run out of fuel in the front tank and stall. Dealers are to replace fuel line connections to allow the rear tank, in addition to the front tank, to directly supply fuel to the engine. The engine control module (ECM) will also be reprogrammed with calibrations necessary to support this new connection.

If this condition affects your vehicle you may noticed the CNG odor or hear a hissing sound. To check for this condition, please have a certified CNG technician inspect the manual shut-off valve in accordance with GM Service Information procedures for CNG leakage and damage. This inspection should be performed regularly as part of the updated maintenance schedule. If the inspection is performed at a GM dealership, and your vehicle is still covered under its 5 year/50,000 mile (80,000 km) Emissions Control Systems Warranty, replacement of the manual shut-off valve, if required, will be performed for you at no charge. This bulletin is being revised to add a note at the beginning of the Service Information section. The 2016 model year GMC Sierra HD vehicle, and an increase in population has also been added. Vehicles equipped with Duramax Diesel Engine (RPO LGH or LML) and Ambulance Upfitter or Fire Truck Upfitter (RPO YF2 or ANM), may have a condition in which the emission control system as designed will limit speed under certain conditions. The EPA has approved General Motor?s request to remove the emission control system speed limitations on these emergency vehicles where applicable. repair vehicles with a rough idle and/or vibration at idle in Drive. This condition will not be present in Park, or Neutral. This concern may be caused by ground out within the one or both engine mounts. Technician will use CH-51450-A (Pico Oscilloscope) to measure the vibration disturbance. If the vibration concern is E1.5 in the horizontal / lateral direction with Pico sensor mounted in seat track as indicated ? continue with steps to reduce the amplitude of the vibration by adding spacers in key locations to reduce ground out within the engine mounts. The 6.2L engine has a characteristic E1 which can be felt, and may be described as a lopey idle. Do not confuse 6.2L E1 characteristic (not caused by mount ground-out), with E1.5 normal idle characteristics being transmitted into the truck via ground-out thru the engine mounts. If measuring high at the seat track 12 mg or greater; replacement of the engine mounts should help reduce the amplitude of the vibration. If the disturbance measures at the seat track as E1.5 lateral in the range of approximately 2.5 - 8 mg using a tri-axis sensor. Then place tri-axis Pico sensor on the inboard seat track forward-most location to record measurement of the rough idle vibration concern. With the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning on perform several short heavy launch events from stop to stop to bring the temperatures back up while attempting to re-create the rough idle vibration in Drive with Pico sensor placed on inboard seat track; while the vibration is active ? Record Pico reading. This method seems to provide better results than extended test drives. If the Pico reading for E1.5, with vibration active, at specified seat track location measures close to 2mg or less use Service Information to diagnose rough idle / vibration. If the Pico reading for E1.5, with vibration active, at the inboard forward seat track l

power sliding rear window (RPO A48) may have areas of high electrical resistance on the rear defroster circuit. This could be caused, in part, by mechanical stress from opening and closing the rear power window, intrusion of debris, and use of the rear defroster. Over time, this condition could generate heat that could melt the areas surrounding the circuit. In rare instances, this heat could cause a non-propagating fire, increasing the risk of property damage or injury. Dealers will replace the buss bar covers and contact cover. If the rear window or sliding glass assembly appears damaged due to an occurrence of high electrical resistance on the rear defroster circuit, they should also be replaced.
