Technician is to perform normal water testing diagnostics while the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning is running, looking for water leaking past the plenum cover. If water is leaking past the cover remove the cover and install a 12x12 snow resistant screen to the fresh air intake. Reseal and install the plenum cover cap using Kent air dry sealer or equivalent.

If the thrust bearing has three vertical channels worn off replace connecting rod bearings, main bearings, thrust bearing and crankshaft. If working on a Corvette the oil tank with lines and oil cooler are both required to be replaced if equipped

Certain Vehicles may have a condition where customers may experience increased brake pedal effort, hardbrake pedal, and/or potentially increased stopping distance. The condition is more prevalent at low speed when softly applyingthe brakes. The engine mounted mechanical vacuum pump outputmay decrease over time decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist. Failure to follow recommended oil change intervalscould contribute to this condition. The Driver?s Information Center, (DIC) ?Service brake assist? alert will activate 2-5minutes after the vacuum level drops, and a Diagnostic Trouble Code, (DTC) will also be set. Even where this condition occurs,the hydraulic brake system remains functional but may require additionalpedal force. Please be aware that even if the vehicle exhibits this condition, it meets all federal motor vehicle safety standards forbrake performance. Dealers are to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

Technician is to make sure the engine is cold and install the Multiple Diagnostic Interface along with Global Diagnostic System 2. Navigate to fuel system depressurize and at engine idle depressurize the fuel system. The fuel pressure sensor value should drop to 0 and the engine will stall. If a sensor is causing this concern the suspected sensor will not drop to 0 the engine will stall however the sensor will still read 30 to 40 pounds per square inch.

If service information diagnostics have been completed and there is still no trouble found, the technician is to inspect for a possible terminal tension concern on the ignition coil power feed for the cause of the rough running engine and or the P0300. For the Service Engine Soon light or traction control lamp concern check the X2 connector of the under hood fuse block for poor pin retention.

Option Code L83, L86, or LV3 may have an oil consumption concern were one quart in 2000 miles is being used. Dealer will confirm oil level was properly checked per Owner’s Manual, and check the bolt torque on the Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly, before doing any repairs to the vehicle.

Technician will need to use a Tech2 to check the verify engine run time on the Engine Hour Meter in the Instrument Panel Cluster Data Display/Data 1 List in the scan tool match. If the engine run time is less than one hour, the battery may have been disconnected, or another vehicle power loss event may have occurred, during vehicle manufacturing. This bulletin provides a service procedure to install the original design temperature-sensor wiring harness to the valve body on certain 2015 model year Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV; Chevrolet Silverado; and GMC Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles, equipped with a 6.2L engine (L86) and 8-speed automatic transmission (M5U). The supplier of the transmission-wiring harness introduced an unapproved change to the temperature sensor (thermistor), resulting in incorrect oil-temperature readings during transition from cold to warm temperatures. This could cause a harsh shift when starting the vehicle at temperatures below 32F (0C); however, shift quality improves once the transmission oil warms up.

Tie strap the ?Main? and ?BCM? branches of the body harness (near the front of dash pass-through inside the vehicle) together to prevent them from coming in contact with park brake bracket on certain 2014 and 2015 model year Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles. These vehicles may have exposed body harness wires in close proximity to the parking brake bracket at the front dash pass-through inside the vehicle. The exposed body harness wires can rub against or be pinched by the brake bracket. While there is no evidence of this happening in customer vehicles, if the wires were to be sufficiently damaged from rubbing against or being pinched by the brake bracket, certain electrical systems could be affected. For example, sufficient damage to the wires could result in the loss of various exterior lights, wipers, the driver?s airbag telltale light, throttle control, defog controls, or trailer brake controls. In addition, while there is no evidence of any stalls resulting from this condition, it is possible that if the run/crank wire was sufficiently damaged, it could result in an engine stall. Depending on which circuit is damaged, a telltale or DIC message may be displayed alerting the customer that an issue exists.

If the engine starts front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the engine does not start with the Camshaft Position sensor disconnected the follow published “Engine Cranks But Does Not Run” diagnosis in Service Information. Also perform an Engine Compression Test and Cylinder Leakage Test in Service Information documents all results. If the Service Information procedures above isolate an engine mechanical concern then removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly.

Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician should follow published Service Information diagnostics that will lead to an oil pump replacement. Technician should replace the oil pump. If debris is found, the main and rod bearings should be inspected before engine replacement is considered.

This concern will only occur when the temperatures is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and if the blower motor is removed while still cold, ice may be found on the blower motor cage. This concern could be caused by water leaking or snow ingestion into the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning case. Technician is to perform normal water testing diagnostics while the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning is running, looking for water leaking past the plenum cover. If water is leaking past the cover remove the cover and install a 12x12 snow resistant screen to the fresh air intake. Reseal and install the plenum cover cap using Kent air dry sealer or equivalent.

The Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve may be sticking or binding causing the valve timing to be retarded. Certain 2015 model year Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD model vehicles equipped with the Duramax Diesel 6.6L Engine (RPO LML) may exhibit engine harness chafing on the EGR stud. Dealers are to inspect the harness for damage, reroute the harness, and install a clip onto the EGR stud.

Certain 2016 model year Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Corvette, GMC Yukon Denali and 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado LD, GMC Sierra LD, and Yukon Denali XL model vehicles equipped with 6.2L engines (RPO L86 and LT1) may have engines built with cylinder head gaskets in which the head gasket stopper ring was off location. The gasket may fatigue over time leading to the possibility of a leak into the combustion chamber after several thousand miles. Possible symptoms include: a check engine light for P0300 Misfire, possible combustion gas leaks to coolant resulting in overheating, over-flowed coolant bottle, milky-colored engine oil in the crankcase, piston scuffing and if the vehicle is continued to be driven in this condition, engine failure. Dealers are to replace the left and right side engine head gasket.

power sliding rear window (RPO A48) may have areas of high electrical resistance on the rear defroster circuit. This could be caused, in part, by mechanical stress from opening and closing the rear power window, intrusion of debris, and use of the rear defroster. Over time, this condition could generate heat that could melt the areas surrounding the circuit. In rare instances, this heat could cause a non-propagating fire, increasing the risk of property damage or injury. Dealers will replace the buss bar covers and contact cover. If the rear window or sliding glass assembly appears damaged due to an occurrence of high electrical resistance on the rear defroster circuit, they should also be replaced.

Transport Bus Diagnostic Tool Kit (EL-51578) has been released to help diagnose any of the Media Oriented Systems Transport bus concerns. The kit contains header connectors that are installed to bypass Media Oriented Systems Transport bus modules. The bypass connector also contains a terminal for verifying Media Oriented Systems Transport control circuit voltages. Technician should review Media Oriented Systems Transport bus description and operation and Diagnostic Trouble Code U0028 diagnostic procedures.

Remove the power inverter module and apply two sided tape to the module bracket to insulate it from the mount. The instrument panel accessory bezel will also need to be removed. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel accessory bezel retainers. Also the instrument panel extension will need to be removed. Apply foam tape around connectors located under grill to prevent them from rattling on grill. Apply flocking tape to the instrument panel extension retainers and apply a strip of foam tape along the edge of the grill to isolate the grill from the dash.

Technician may find following fuses F23DL F22DL F30DL F31DL F32DL with the ignition key in the off position to have voltage. Technician should not replace the Transfer Case Control Module. Technician will need to install a diode, part number 12112422, across the coil of the solenoid. It is important that the striped end of the diode be connected to the positive terminal of the coil and the other end of the diode be connected to ground.
