To isolate the source of the leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 General Information > Diagnosis and Testing > Engine > Engine Oil Leaks - Fluorescent Oil Additive Method procedure. When an oil leak is present at a turbocharger oil supply or drain tube, remove the affected oil tube and inspect for damage, and replace the O-ring seals, pedestal gasket or oil tube as required. Refer to WSM, Section 303-04. For claiming, use the affected oil tube or pedestal gasket as the causal part and applicable labor operations in Sections 6 and 9 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

When replacing the A/C inlet line, a support clip for the oil cooler coolant line should be installed to prevent contacting the A/C inlet line. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the A/C inlet line and adjust the gap between the A/C inlet line and the CAC hose.

Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.

When replacing the suction line, verify that all of the compressor to engine block fasteners are installed and torqued properly. The compressor requires three fasteners - 2 bolts (W701331-S442) and one stud/nut - installed securing it to the engine block and torqued to 25 Nm (18 lb.ft) per the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00 under removal and installation. Improper number of compressor fasteners and/or incorrect torque may cause repeat failure of the A/C suction line connected to the compressor.

This DTC indicates a fault is present with coolant bypass solenoid C, located at the rear of the engine above the starter/bell housing and below the vacuum pump. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Using the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent scan tool, retrieve continuous memory DTCs. Is DTC P26B7 present in PCM memory? a. Yes - proceed to Steps 2. b. No - this article does not apply. Refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnostics. 2. Replace the engine coolant bypass valve with a new service part. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-03. 3. Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 83.03 or higher. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Is the vehicle a 2016 Escape or MKC? a. Yes - check the vehicle build date. Was the vehicle built on or before 12/15/2015? (1) Yes - proceed to Step 2. (2) No - this article does not apply. b. No - proceed to Step 2. 2. Inspect the PCV hose to make sure it is properly connected to the valve cover and the low pressure intake duct. a. For Escape and Focus ST vehicles remove the cowl panel grille to access the hose. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-02. b. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.

This is the normal vent position for optimal noise, vibration, harshness (NVH) and windnoise qualities. When the vent is closed, the front sliding glass panel will open to the 10 mm (.394 in) position and then close. The front sliding glass panel also opens to the 10 mm (.394 in) position to give the front sliding glass panel enough clearance before it opens to the rearward position. This is a normal operating characteristic of the front sliding glass panel. No repairs are required.

Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair. Do not cut or shorten the battery cable, instead carefully remove the affected battery cable clamp and clean the cable end as necessary to preserve wire length. Some rework may be necessary for some vehicle environments. Bend the new positive battery cable clamp as needed and crimp it to the existing battery cable. Make sure to use heat shrink tubing over the battery cable to battery cable clamp connection. Obtain the heat shrink tube locally.

Hands-free liftgate function can be restored by replacing the existing hands-free liftgate actuation upper sensor (14F680), lower sensor (14F680), stone deflector (17779), hands-free liftgate actuation module (14B291), plastic fasteners (N807951S) and screws (W506964) that are required for the factory installed trailer hitch receiver with hands-free liftgate option. Replacement of these parts to restore hands-free liftgate function is not warrantable. Regardless of trailer hitch configuration, the hands-free liftgate system cannot be added to a vehicle that was originally built without the hands-free liftgate option.

This may be due to the parameter reset procedure not being properly completed. To clear this DTC, use the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software, select - Toolbox - Body - Security - PATS Functions - Parameter Reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure. This procedure will transfer the existing Key ID information between the modules without the need of having 2 programmed PATS keys present. There is no need to program keys when the PCM is going to be replaced. Additional information can be found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-01. Missing or lost keys are not warrantable.

The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.

Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Prior to performing any road force balancing procedures or related diagnosis, make sure the vehicle tire pressure is correct and is driven a minimum of 24 Km (15 miles) to eliminate any possible flat spotting conditions and potential misdiagnosis. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-04A for further information. In addition, it is recommended that diagnosis of tire/wheel vibration should not be performed on tires with less than 320 Km (200 miles). Some initial tire/wheel vibration issues (such as flat spotting) may correct themselves after the tires have been in service for 320 Km (200 miles). Setting tire pressure to the correct placard pressure is contained within pre-delivery inspection.
