Technician should drive the vehicle will using the Pico Oscilloscope to record data. After the data is recorded it should be reviewed to determine the root cause of the concern. If a repair attempt made the concern better but not eliminated or had no affect at all, and are requesting assistance from General Motors Technical Assistance Center record another Pico file and save it to the computer. After the new Pico Oscilloscope data has been saved email the data to General Motors Technical Assistance Center in the subject line include ?Vibration? ?Business Associate Code? and the last 8 of the Vehicle Identification Number.

The evaporative emissions pipe that connects to the inlet of the purge valve may rub against an air conditioning hose connector causing the pipe to chafe. Over time, such chafing can cause a small hole in the evaporative emissions pipe. If this were to occur, the evaporative emission system small leak detected Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC P0442) would set and the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (check engine light) would illuminate. Inspect the evaporative emissions purge pipe for wear, secure a bumper on the pipe, and if necessary, replace the purge pipe.

Vehicles may have out-of-specification crimps on the front under hood flexible fuel feed pipe. Fuel may weep from these connections and the fuel odor may enter the cabin. Dealers to to inspect the fuel feed pipe and manufacture date. If there is indication of weeping or the pipe manufacture date falls into the suspect date range, replace the fuel feed pipe.
