may be noisy or vibrate when running. This concern will only occur when the temperatures is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and if the blower motor is removed while still cold, ice may be found on the blower motor cage. This concern could be caused by water leaking or snow ingestion into the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning case. Technician is to perform normal water testing diagnostics while the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning is running, looking for water leaking past the plenum cover. If water is leaking past the cover remove the cover and install a 12x12 snow resistant screen to the fresh air intake. In some circumstances, some 2014-2017 model year Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, and GMC Yukon vehicles may have a condition where customers may experience increased brake pedal effort, hard brake pedal, and/or potentially increased stopping distance. The condition is more prevalent at low speed when softly applying the brakes. The engine mounted mechanical vacuum pump output may decrease over time decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist. Failure to follow recommended oil change intervals could contribute to this condition. The Driver?s Information Center, (DIC) ?Service brake assist? alert will activate 2-5 minutes after the vacuum level drops, and a Diagnostic Trouble Code, (DTC) will also be set. Even where this condition occurs, the hydraulic brake system remains functional but may require additional pedal force. Please understand that even if the vehicle exhibits this condition, it meets all federal motor vehicle safety standards for brake performance. Dealers are to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

In 2017 the K2XX introduced a “ Driver Door Open Prime ” (DDOP) feature that improves cold startability. The engineering investigation has determined that an intermittent pulse on the ECM RUN/CRANK input (during vehicle door unlock), initializes the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) diagnostics that falsely sets P2101 when the DDOP occurs as the customer opens the driver door. Many of the reported P2101 failures show that the vehicle battery was in a reduced charge state (new dealer stock or extended radio operation with the engine off). Run the engine for 1 minute, soak the vehicle for 5 hours (required to re-initialize the DDOP) and verify that the P2101 does not reset. Return the vehicle to the customer

Some 2017 vehicles may have been assembled with the wrong fasteners retaining the brake master cylinder to the brake vacuum booster. If this condition is present, it may not be noticed until mileage accumulates. Once mileage accumulates, potential exists for these fasteners to loosen gradually, resulting in brake pedal performance that is noisy, long in travel and spongy in behavior. Progressively longer stopping distances may also be experienced and, eventually, a driver information center (DIC) message of ?Service Brake Assist? will appear. Dealer will replace the brake master cylinder nuts.

guidelines are temporarily not available at times but the RVC will remain on during the concern. Additionally, no related DTCs will be found if this bulletin applies. One example of when this concern may be observed is if a customer quickly starts the car and immediately places the shifter in Reverse while the infotainment system is still in the initial boot up process. Cause This is a result of the RVC image being provided via an alternate robust RVC feed from the Video Bypass Module (NGI systems) or from the radio (BYOM2 and Info 3.0 systems). This alternate robust RVC feed is provided in the event that the primary RVC feed is not available for any reason just to ensure that the RVC image is always present when in reverse. Correction If this concern is experienced and no related codes are present, DO NOT replace any parts as it is normal for the RVC guidelines not to be present when the RVC image being displayed is from the alternate robust RVC feed. If this occurs after quickly starting the vehicle and immediately placing the shifter in Drive, the RVC guidelines can be displayed again in most cases if they are really needed by safely coming to a stop, placing the transmission in Park for a moment, and then shifting to Reverse again.

engagement into drive, shudder at a launch, or the transmission is slipping when shifting into 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th gears. This may be due to loose stator support to pump cover bolts causing a leak at the stator support to pump cover gasket. Technician will check for the bolts to be loose. If any of the bolts are loose or the gasket is misaligned or leaking, the transmission pump cover must be replaced and the 1234 clutch plates should be inspected for being distressed and repaired as needed.

that may have a rattle noise from the second row seat. Technician will need to inspect the striker not aligned properly in latch opening. To repair this condition, rework/adjust the striker in the direction to center it in the latch opening. An adjustable wide mouth metal working tool may be used to adjust the striker just enough to center in the latch opening. Technician may find a seat bottom latch may have an unequal latch opening side-to-side for the striker to seat into. To repair this condition, with the affected seat in the tumbled forward position, while applying steady, firm pressure, cycle the seat down into the latched position. Some vehicles built prior to 09/21/2015 with 60/40 Split Bench Seat may have 60-percent long side bench, inboard latch may not be properly aligned in striker opening. Technician will need to place a 2.6 mm thick flat washer over the 40 percent seat base stud, not the floor stud. Some vehicles may have a seat base plat that rattles against the rib in the floor pan. Apply Mylar tape to the floor pan under the seat plate to provide relief for the rattle condition.
