Technician should drive the vehicle will using the Pico Oscilloscope to record data. After the data is recorded it should be reviewed to determine the root cause of the concern. If a repair attempt made the concern better but not eliminated or had no affect at all, and are requesting assistance from General Motors Technical Assistance Center record another Pico file and save it to the computer. After the new Pico Oscilloscope data has been saved email the data to General Motors Technical Assistance Center in the subject line include ?Vibration? ?Business Associate Code? and the last 8 of the Vehicle Identification Number.

GM does not endorse any repairs that involve welding, bending, straightening o re-machining. Only cosmetic refinishing of the wheel's coatings, using recommended procedures, is allowed. Evaluating Damage In evaluating damage, it is the GM Dealer's responsibility to inspect the wheel for corrosion, scrapes, gouges, etc. The Dealer must insure that such damage is not deeper than what can be sanded or polished off. The wheel must be inspected for cracks. If cracks are found, discard the wheel. Any wheels with bent rim flanges must not be repaired or refinished. Wheels that have been refinished by an outside company must be returned to the same vehicle. The Dealer must record the wheel ID stamp or the cast date on the wheel in order to assure this requirement. Refer to Refinisher's Responsibility Outside Company later in this bulletin.

Cause This may be caused by the fracture or breaking of the gasoline filler neck recirculation line connector Correction If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, complete the following procedure: 1. Raise the vehicle and visually inspect the fuel tank filler vent hose connector for damage. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI. If connector is damaged, replace the fuel tank filler vent hose. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Vent Hose Replacement in SI. If there is no damage to the connector, continue diagnosis referring to SI.

Technician will use this preliminary information to find the brake pedal position data parameters in the scan tool, and also to provide some additional diagnostic help. These issues may be caused by an incorrect brake pedal position sensor input to the engine control module. Technician will verify with the scan tool if the engine control module has the correct parameters for the brake pedal position sensor. If an engine control module brake pedal position sensor relearn is performed, the truck may be temporarily repaired until the intermittent wiring issue between the engine control module and brake pedal position sensor occurs again. In some circumstances, some 2014-2017 model year Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, and GMC Yukon vehicles may have a condition where customers may experience increased brake pedal effort, hard brake pedal, and/or potentially increased stopping distance. The condition is more prevalent at low speed when softly applying the brakes. The engine mounted mechanical vacuum pump output may decrease over time decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist. Failure to follow recommended oil change intervals could contribute to this condition. The Driver?s Information Center, (DIC) ?Service brake assist? alert will activate 2-5 minutes after the vacuum level drops, and a Diagnostic Trouble Code, (DTC) will also be set. Even where this condition occurs, the hydraulic brake system remains functional but may require additional pedal force. Please understand that even if the vehicle exhibits this condition, it meets all federal motor vehicle safety standards for brake performance. Dealers are to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

Technician should be advised that the catalytic converter efficiency Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0420 and P0430 are disabled for the first hour of engine run time to allow break-in of the catalytic converter. Technician will need to use a Tech2 to check the verify engine run time on the Engine Hour Meter in the Instrument Panel Cluster Data Display/Data 1 List in the scan tool match. If the engine run time is less than one hour, the battery may have been disconnected, or another vehicle power loss event may have occurred, during vehicle manufacturing. Technician will need to clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and perform a drive cycle. If the catalytic converter was replaced and the Diagnostic Trouble Codes set it may be a result of the engine run time restrictions no longer being in place since the vehicle is no longer new. Technician will need to clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and perform a drive cycle.

While in the United States they are unable to receive Turn-by-Turn directions. Due to the existing cellular provider not having roaming agreements in areas outside of Canada to support transmitting of the packet data required for Turn-By-Turn feature to operate. The customer has 3 options while traveling through the United Sates. First if the vehicle is equipped with a navigation radio they can request a "Destination Download" to the vehicle. Second if the customer uses the OnStar RemoteLink app they can send the directions to the vehicle. The third option would be to have the vehicle loaded with a ?500 phone number? The customer will no longer be able to use their Hands Free Calling minutes when the new 500 phone number is loaded. If a customer chooses to restore Hands Free Calling in the future a new phone number will be assigned to the vehicle; previous phone numbers are not available.
